Hey everyone. I’m starting to plan out suspension for my truck. I’m hoping for a weekend warrior trail truck and good daily driver on road. I have an arb front bumper which is heavier and eventually will be bolting a winch to it so I’ll need heavy duty springs. So far, with the roughly $3k Budget, options I have liked at are:

-Toytec radflo 3” kit w/ spc uca
    -camburg fox performance 2.5 kit
-fat bobs garage 3” predator strike force kit w/ zone uca

I looked at ome initially but would rather spend a bit more and get more.

I’m wanting to run 35’s on the truck. I don’t mind cutting fenders for clearance or anything. I’ll be cutting the rear of the rear fender off as well for tail clearance.

Eventually I will be getting a leaf pack for the rear but in time. But for mean time I’ll be getting shackles most likely.

I’m curious if anyone’s input for these options.
    Are there any clear winners?
Are there any other kits I should be considering?
I currently have 2” levelling blocks on top my oem coilovers- could i stack these with new coilovers for more lift?
If not able to stack- will camburg or another 2.5” kit will 35’s fit?
Is it a good idea to use a diff drop even with 2.5”?
Will 35” spare fit under box still?

    Thanks in advance

DO NOT Stack. Just get some quality coil overs and with the weight you've got up front, 700lb spring rate. There's a group buy on ADS (doesn't happen often) you can get some high end ADS c/o for about $1700. You won't regret getting ADS. And you'll need uniball UCAs another $700

@831Tun thanks, just looked at ADS. That looks like a good deal for $1700. For group buys I just wait until a message comes on forum?? That’s good to know

Here is the info on the current and very rare Group Buy for ADS. I know the vendor (we won't mention names) and have an order on the way from him, my second order from him. Besides the great shocks, there are some good reasons for supporting this vendor. https://www.tundras.com/threads/deaver-leaf-springs-ads-rear-shocks-group-buy.21850/

Yup. @831Tun has the right idea. If you'll have a winch and heavy bumper, go with 700 lb coils. Definitely look at ADS. I personally went with a regular ball joint UCA instead of uniballs. I have JBA Offroad UCAs. High quality product and will generally be a couple hundred cheaper than a good uniball UCA.

Also, I know several people who've redone their c/os only to do it over again as their needs changed or they just wanted more performance. I'm included in that list. With the ADS you're only going to upgrade when you decide to spend 10k (front only) to go long travel.

Don't rule out the OME kit. The 613 kits are designed for heavy bumpers. You will get good height without doing anything else. You will have to crank up other coilovers if you want to achieve the same height.

That’s what I’m afraid of with ome. I know I’ll be wanting more at some point. So I should just bite the bullet and get a better set off the hop. Thanks

I haven’t fully ruled anything out at all. I just am looking for good info on options. I do want a fully capable off-road truck. I do get pretty rough with things. For instance I’ve gotten air time in my old stock 3/4 ton Chevy because f*ck it!

If you have an aftermarket bumper, you probably won't have to worry about any clearance issues in front of your tire. Depending on the wheel you select and its offset, you might be able to fit a 35 without chopping the cab mount. Probably depends on exactly what tire you choose as well, since not all 35s are actually 35s. I have an aftermarket bumper, a wheel with 25mm offset, and fit a 295/70/18 (34.5") mud tire with no problems. I removed the rear mudflaps and made my own that are more flexible.

Truth is you can go with Fox, Icon, King, ADS for the top of the line stuff that you won't need to upgrade. Just pick the color you like.:D

    See fine print
@Backslider had fatbobs and toytec/radflo so maybe he can chime in.

I’m running toytec/radflos and they are good for their price. My truck stays on the street so u can’t comment offroad performance.

Other brands to consider. King or Icon. Icon makes shocks for all budgets but like everyone else says, If your going to end up re doing it just do it once right!

Ever consider the Eibach kit? (There’s a bumper on this truck as of now)

It's good, but not on the level.

I think it was offered as a low/mid priced solution. I think you'll be better served with something a little more better.

I couldn't agree more. You don't need a Ferrari to go around the corner for groceries. It's important to know how you're going to use your truck and plan/ spend accordingly.
