Rigid industries LED fog lights

i see they are putting these on the 2019 TRD Pros. Does anyone know if they are making a plug and play option for the Tundra yet? I looked on their website and couldn’t find anything for the tundra. A link would be great.

 

Not sure if they make a PnP adapter but someone like @BlueBottle could tell ya to put one together.

I would just wait till rigid releases it. Or you can always buy the Toyota part #s once it’s available. @Roman should be able to help with that.

The Toyota mounting should be solid compared to the current rigid mount available. I would opt oem anytime.

Yes, rigid's mounts suck, but they can be made better. I added an extra piece to stop the jiggle, others have welded in a gusset to there mounting bracket to stop it. Mine no longer jiggle, but I will still be looking to see what the OE mounts are like, because I am sure that they will look better than rigid's mounts.

 

They do make a plug and play harness for the rigid lights, I have it on my truck. Now I'm not sure what style connector the '19 pro has, I have the dot legal rigid lights on my truck.
And yes I want to see what the new mounting solution is that Toyota has cone up with. My brackets have gussets welded in and it does help alot but they still aren't rock solid. Hopefully the opening on the new mounts matches the standard size for rigid lights.

 

This was my solution, as I didn't want to remove the mounts after getting everything in to weld a gusset in. All the mount issuses aside, the Rigid SAE duallies are awesome little lights.

how did you guys wire the lights? just connect them to your factory wiring?

 

Yes, factory wiring. You can buy a connector that is plug and play from the rigid to factory fog light

 

i just cut the factory plug end off the wires, and hard wired mine. just got done with it this evening. checked made sure they came on and everything before i buttoned everything up. got in it to drive down the road to see how i liked them, they weren’t on. checked fuses, i had blown the factory fuse under the hood. went out and bought fuses. the factory is 15 amp. i put a 20 in it, and they come on, but very dim. i don’t understand what happend

 

How are the wires connected? Solder, heatshrink, splices? It sounds like a short, especially if they were bright initially.

 

just butt connectors. that’s why i don’t understand what’s going on. i put a 20 amp fuse in, and they turned on and were bright like they’re supposed to be, then got ready to pull out of the auto store, they went out again. i put a 25 amp fuse in, and the fuse never blew, but now they are very dim, and eventually goes out. i’m lost on it. i guess i’ll just take everything back apart tomorrow and see if i can figure it out. my thoughts were that the factory wires weren’t big enough. but everyone is saying that they use factory wires.

 

What model lights are those and what did you have stock, LED or halogens? I swapped in some D-series for my factory LED fogs without an issue, but I also used an adapter from Cali Raised for the wiring. Do you have the polarity reversed or anything?

 

they’re “D series pro” and i had LED factory. the only thing stumping me is that they came on super bright just like they’re supposed when i was first installing. but now they’re not.

 

I'd double check your polarity and make sure you don't have the wires backwards. Some LED drivers are sensitive to that.

 

Yes factory wiring is fine for them. I have them in my truck. As mentioned, I would switch the wires and see what happens.

Yes if you don't want to cut and splice. Just make sure the plugs match the fog connectors on your truck.
