Mobile DVR is on the way. Forward camera record function will hopefully be installed next Weekend.

Well, I'll probably just post instructions on how to do it if you already have a FRAC Harness installed. It'll be a pretty simple upgrade.

Another happy FRAC customer. No photos since I just did the same as others with no factory switch panels open. My switches are located just above the galls breakage sensor and used flag terminals for clearance. I did go with the the NOAUKA front camera and the video quality is great. Much better than the rear factory. Thanks for all the help Lou!

What DVR did you choose? Is it possible to record 2 channels so record front and back?

I went with the one listed at the bottom of this thread. It’s a single channel recorder, but it would be relatively easy to record both cameras with a dual channel DVR

The price on that one, at $24, looks really reasonable. I notice that 2ch on up are much more (like $90-300). Is there any downside to just putting in two single channel units vs a single 2 channel?

You could certainly do that. The downside would be taking up twice the volume where ever you decide to install them. I’m thinking of mounting my single channel in the glove box.

QQ... I've seen a lot of guys in this post leveraging the camera that goes into the front logo. My 18 is due to be delivered in March and with my tight clearance in my garage this is a must do mod. With front emblem now being an actual functioning piece of the TSS system...anyone use a different front camera and location that they would recommend?

    TIA

Here’s what one of my 2018 customers (@azTony) did for his 2018 grill cam.

Thanks for the idea. My grill from Sparks (plat with cement surround) will be here tomorrow. Truck will be here in a few more weeks. That will give me some time to see how that spot would work out for me. Only issue I see is if you can see that bolt easily. I can see my OCD only looking at the threaded bolt every time I look at the truck. Hopefully not, as that's a very close up picture.
Will be placing my order when I get my truck to make sure of button locations. Thanks again.

Ha. Understand. If that ends up being a problem, a little flat black rattle can paint can go a long way towards hiding the threads. You could also possibly cut the threads to match the nut length so there's no extension. You'd have to be careful not to damage the cable if taking that approach though. Looking forward to seeing your solution!

    Tundra Tex,
Do you have an updated ETA for the next batch of FRACs? Have you had a chance to hook up your recorder? I was hoping to mount it in the glove box too. Thanks.

3” lift, black step bars, aftermarket wheels, LT305/55R20 was this way when I brought it.
What is the advantage of having a front/rear anytime camera maybe the front to help park in tight places but other than that what would you use it for.

EDIT. FRAC Harness parts issues have been resolved and the FRAC harness is once again in production!

As for the recorder, the first one I ordered was damaged in transit, then I was out of town with work and had to re-order. I have the new one now and just need to find the time to work on it.

Wish I had the ability to install this myself! I'm not very good with this kind of stuff. Anyone ever have a professional do this kind of work? I was thinking about a car audio shop maybe.

A stereo shop would definitely do it for you. I think this would be an easy job for them.

I've had a few customers that used their local installers to put the front camera and FRAC in for them. It should cost no more than $150 for the total installation. It is a fairly simple plug and play installation - especially for the guys who do it for a living.
