I see what you mean about the foam. I will say I don't have the foam and I haven't had any vibration issues. Hopefully you will be good to go.

@Tundracollector how do you angle them down, and when you do it do you need a new bezel and also, does it create a gap in the fitment. I'm ready to go with these in Amber and cornering if I can validate how to angle them down.

Well the bezels weren’t offered yet when I bought my squadrons so I do have a small gap. Also from what I seen, the bezels don’t let you adjust the squadrons very much because they make contact with the fog light surround.

It’s really easy to tilt them down, since you have to mount the brackets on the squadrons, just rotate the brackets a bit before tightening them.

I know that’s a sucky description but all you need to do is have them in front of you and you’ll get it.

As @Tundracollector said, Their kit was installed before our Squadron Angled Bezel was included. The Squadron Angled bezel was designed to eliminate the gap found on these kits but does limit your adjustment. If you are looking for maximum adjustment, and don't mind a small gap, purchase our Squadron-R Series Lights and Fog Pocket Kit but keep the standard Round Bezel instead of installing the Squadron Angled Bezel.

X2 regarding the angle and the bezels. In my opinion with the bezels they get mounted into the angle BD set them at. I think the angle is fine as it is, but I see what you are trying to do for street use. With enough tools and motivation I'm sure you can find a way to angle them down somehow.

Edit: BD beat me to the punch with a better answer.

 

I feel like the bd’s are wasted when pointing them down.

 

They are wasted when they are off too, tilting them slightly allows me to run them all the time without being too blinding

 

I finally got mine in and installed! I ordered mine back before Christmas, but because I am a cheap Canadian I had them shipped to the border and had my folks border hop and pick them up. Finally went for a family visit and picked them up! Thanks to the OP for the description. I was able to set them up and get them ready to go before heading out to the garage to install them (-20 degrees Celsius). Should have arranged them a bit better but the passenger side is on the right and drivers side is upside down on the left.

I took a snapshot of the housing from the back to show the blue tab as it sits I just undid them from here and installed them from the well well without pulling the housing. It was pretty cold and I was worried the plastic tabs would just snap. Just used a screwdriver to pop out the blue tab and took out the one screw and popped in the new lights and buttoned everything back up! Took about 20 minutes per side.

Well, my squadron sports arrive today. Since I had pulled my stocks out from the front, I plan to do the same. I cut off the clip holding the wire harness to the truck earlier so I have more play in the wires. My plan is to attach the squadrons and then push into to place from the front and avoid going through the wheel well. I'll post back results.

And what a difference in lighting. Can’t wait to get my retro headlights next month to really see and match the 5000k temp. Love them!

 

Sounds like you are going to own the night. A retro and some BD's are a great combo in my opinion!

So this is for the 2018 Tundra's...or at least mine lol. I had read a bunch of the previous installs and was prepared with way too many tools. I wanted to post this up to hopefully save some new truck owners some time and frustration.

I got the Squadron Sport Wide Cornering Amber lights from bajadesigns.com and used the "BDForums" code to get the lights for $337 shipped to my door.
The kit included the two lights with the bezels already installed, the mounting hardware, all the wiring harness stuff to make it plug 'n play, and some small foam squares that are now included to help with vibration and to keep the lights secure. (It's debatable whether or not that foam is needed....pretty snug without)

Tools needed -

• Plastic trim pry tool
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Alan wrench for Baja light housing brackets

After removing the interior fender wall...luckily not breaking those little clips/tabs that hold the plastic liner to the chrome bumper. And I didn't find the dreaded blue tab that is located on some of the Tundra fog light housings...And 20 minutes of frustration on how to remove the housing, I was left with this.


After feeling around for a while from the back side of the light, I decided that it may be easier to remove the housing from the front of the vehicle. And I was right. The only thing holding the housing in place are two tabs. All you need to do is depress the top tab with a little plastic pry tool and pull it out from the top slowly and then pull it out from the bottom.


Here is what the top tab looks like.


The factory wiring harness is clipped into the frame of the vehicle so the light is not going to give you much room when you pull it out from the front of the vehicle. Don't panic. Just reach over the top of the light and depress the connector clip from the housing. You should be able to do this with one hand.


Go ahead and attach the metal hardware to the new Squadron housings. Cut the foam pieces and apply them to metal tabs like this. I used a pocket knife and super glue.


Install the light into the factory housing and slowly coax some of the foam between the metal light bracket and the factory housing area. I used a pocket knife. It doesn't need to be pretty in my opinion.


Put the wiring harnesses together as instructed with the Baja instructions. I didn't have a voltmeter so I went with my intuition. I'm not sure how Toyota decides on the coloring scheme but here's how it was for my truck. On the passenger side, from the factory wiring, pink was positive and white with a black stripe was negative. On the driver side, blue was positive and white with a black stripe was negative. For the baja lights, brown is positive and black is negative. Anyways, get all that straight and pop the housing back into the bumper. Put it back in as you pulled it out. Insert on the bottom and gently pop it in up top. As you can see the gap between the light and the housing is negligible with the bezels.


After it's all buttoned up....

Same here. Mine are still going strong. Bought the clear lenses to swap the amber ones out but can't bring myself to do it.

 

Haha funny you mention it, I have been considering it, but same thing, not sure I want to leave the Amber.

Driving home tonight there was a ton of smoke in the roads from fireworks, the Amber cut through it pretty decent!

Can anybody explain how to remove the plastic fender well? Do you pull the whole plastic fender straight out? Or do you pry the clips off to get the fender off? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
