I get that lol. That’s old school. I haven’t had a bench seat since the early 90s when I had my Delta 88.

I agree. I wouldn't dare try that swap.

I'm fairly certain it would be cheaper (let alone way easier) to just trade your truck in on one that had what you're looking for.

I have the configuration you want and I hate it. The big raised area in the middle of the floor makes it very uncomfortable for someone to actually ride in the middle unless it’s a small child or something which is illegal in most states.

I will trade you trucks if you want a bench seat. It is completely useless. I would MUCH rather have the extra storage, ability to upgrade to a badass shifter, and cup holders in a better location.

Agree, I wouldn’t go as far as hating it, but yeah it is uncomfortable and pretty useless. I don’t mind as the storage is enough, at least for me and I do like the storage under the bottom seat as it is pretty stealth.

Yeah hate was a strong word but it is pretty useless. I like the idea of the stealth storage but it’s a pain in the ass to access it if you keep things on your console (drinks etc) because you have to move everything and the when you lift the middle part up all your stuff in the tiny storage areas moves around. Toyota definitely could have put more thought into the design.

So... Speaking of "(Not just talked about it and then the thread fizzle out with no closure)"

Did you ever find a solution? I'm not looking to get rid of my truck... And I've got a 4th boy on the way. So I would really dig a 6th seat at this point.

just did the opposite this weekend put a center console in....console only at moment but, all that is needed to convert to center console shift from column shift is the shift assembly along with the shorter cable ...the cable goes thru same hole on the floor as far as tow haul button that also can be purchased and wired to the spot on dash and change column or just cut/disconnect remove cable and keep same column i will be doing this in the spring (console shifter)

I think that looks just fine without the shifter. Make that space into a phone charging pad or something

Nice... Said boy is here now it's time to get serious!

It's a problem getting my truck with the bench because the SR5 deletes the bench for the console. I need to start buying parts.

I'm kinda with ya @Snoozer - had a bench seat front in my '14 tundra and liked it, miss it most times.

Who needs two and a half cup holders when you have an elevated twelve pack holder in the center with the bench (to be consumed later at home, of course). Can't set a case on the center console... End up scratching the chrome/plastic fancy pants trim and won't be able to shift...

There are other benefits, but I hear there's a new moderator in town with a ban hammer, so I'll let everyone use their imagination. Hope you get this swap figured out, good luck.

Wheels, center console swap, tinted windows,
I dont have photos yet but I just did the center console swap no shifter yet though. All that was needed was the console assembly i got through lkq.
Looks like it was meant to be there with zero modification.
Has anyone figured out the shifter part of this yet?

Photos from my existing setup. While you were swapping did you see any extra cables that look like these. Likely behind the ECU panel?

Plugged in cables are on Dash side, multi angle plug photo shoot plugs in on the back side (clcloser to rear seats)

I still need to find out if there are cables buried in the dash for my reverse setup.

Wheels, center console swap, tinted windows,
I honestly didn't even glance in the dash or under the carpet for plugs of any kind.‍♂️‍♂️
I did on the other hand search the interwebs and I feel somewhat confident that the plugs are the same for the console shifter and the column shifter. From what I've seen for plugs they all look the same for both.
So I just ordered the console shift assembly to see if I'm right. Lol
    Feeling committed now.
