Lift kits, leveling kits, coil overs, I’m so confused.

I bought a 17 trd pro cement with the pro suspension. I love the truck but wish it was a little bit taller. From what I understand it already has a 2 inch lift on it compared to stock. I would like to bring it up to 4-6 inches and I don’t want it to affect the ride. Block kits, lift kits, leveling kits from 200-2500 dollars. I’m not sure what I need.

    1. Is the Trd lift that is on it adjustable? That would be the easiest solution. The truck didn’t come with any info on the bilsteins, coil overs etc.

    2. Can you recommend what I need to achieve my goal? I want it done right and properly and I don’t care if it costs a little more to do so. From what I understand I don’t want anything on there that would bend the CV boot. Is it possible to put something on there that would not void my warranty?

I’ve read the threads on the different types of lifts but am still a little confused. Thanks for your input.

Ready lift sells a 6" Pro specific lift. I haven't read good reviews though. No, your suspension is not adjustable in terms of height. Coach builder shims and shackles seems to be the preferred method to lift the pro but you're not gonna get the 4-6" you want. @dcsleeper408 has a pro and might have some advice.

    1. No, your suspension is not adjustable
    2. The only way to get that height is by a drop bracket lift which includes cutting part of your frame. It will void all sorts of warrantee items.

Your truck is roughly .5-1 inch higher in the front than a stock TRD OR. Remember, ride height does not equal performance.

I found this thread to be very informative and a great starting point.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/guide-different-types-of-lifts.546/

Good luck with your search. Also, if you decide to do a suspension lift and replace your current Pro suspension your Pro suspension should sell pretty fast.

Crap, I forgot this is the Tundra forum. I thought I was on the Taco forum. Your Tundra is about 1.9 inches higher up front than a TRD OR.

Do you think it’s a good one or is that the one that didn’t get good reviews?

That's not the one I read a bad review about. The bad review was on the 6".

I don't know..seems like a step backwards from a Pro setup. Please don't go cheap on suspension :)
3/1 is perfect on a Pro IMO
I would do the coachbuilder setup.

I’m not familiar with bracket lifts..
    I agree with @TheBeast
I really wouldn’t put anything on the Pro suspension. The cb kit was the best choice as far as getting some height gains. Performance I haven’t felt or seen any flaw from a cb kit.
Only issue is my rear packs are flat-from weight.
I would stay away from big spacers and rear blocks.. it will just ruin the suspension fast.

OP: depending on your use, a Deaver leaf pack with aftermarket shackles would be nice. K37 or U748 depending on your bed load.

In my opinion what you’ve listed is a pretty good jump backward. The PRO suspension is rock solid but if you truly want it a little higher then you’re looking at spending some money to do it right. Adding to what you have might only be leveling out performance, but the Coachbuilder setup might be your best option if just adding is your goal. If you replace them you’d certainly recoup some cost from someone on this forum.

The best part of Pro is its suspension. Some people installed a couple of Coachbuilder shims in the front and got little more lift without compromising much. (Coachbuilder--see the left tab for Ekstrom Design). Pro suspension is pretty awesome suspension and I would not take that giant leap backward.

I like it. Totally different vehicle than the Tundra so there’s no comparison but it’s been great.

Ahh. Coachbuilder. I get it now. Maybe David can help me. Sounds like it’s worth a call. If I’m not brave enough to do the work myself who can I use locally? Some kind of suspension shop 4 wheel parts, etc? How much does installation usually cost?

Take it from someone who doesn't mind advising a customer to spend money where it counts. I work @ 4wp (Dallas, not Nashville, YET) and if you came into my location with a Pro, I'd stop you from doing a lift or at least try. Honestly the best way to make it perform remotely better would be to invest in a King, Fox, or Icon coilover system. Paired with a AAL, shackles, UCA's and something like a 295-70-18 will net you about 4 total inches. The coilover has the ability to go north of 3 inches of lift (not too much more) This is a smarter way to do it and your truck will thank you for a LONG time.

This pretty much confirms what others have suggested, and a little more
Here’s just another bit of praise for a guy that’s working in the industry.

We all think you need to leave the PRO suspension as is

I don't want to thread jack but I have a similar question/dilemma. I'm doing a little off-roading and looking to do more. the wife is enjoying and wants to continue doing it, also the truck is my daily driver. I currently have a bed rack and Demello sliders on my truck and she just doesn't look as perky as when we first met. We purchased an off-road teardrop so I will be towing. (trailer is only 1,500 lbs or so, so low tongue weight. My plan is purchasing U748 to make her perky again and then adding coach builder shims and shackles to give a little more height. (when my current tires wear out moving to larger size, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Is this a good decent plan? will the Pro suspension work with u748 and coach builder. I want it to be able to handle moderate off road(I wont be rock crawling) Any advice would be appreciated.
