Hi everyone, I didn’t get exactly what I was looking for by searching so I’m reaching out for answers.
I am planning to do 6112/5160 setup in the tundra and plan to set them at 1.9 just to level and give a better ride and perhaps get rid of some bed bounce.
Will it align without issue? I don’t want to do anything else with UCA, diff drops etc. I put 5100 in my Tacoma and was told it would align no problem but I had to do UCA as it floated on the highway.
Also, what would be a good tire size to run without any rubbing etc?
Thanks for any input and Merry Christmas!

No need for UCAs unless you run a really wide tire with the stock rim and its +60 offset.

You’ll be fine at under 2”. If you do want flexibility on alignment than get spc uca. But only if you have a shop that knows how to align them. Most shops don’t know.

Good deal. I may install them down the road but my budget allows just the shock upgrade for now.
I get a decent bed bounce on cement highway here in Colorado. Will the 5160 reduce or eliminate it?

I don't have any experience with those. People who have 'em seem to like 'em. I've got Fox 2.5 rears and don't have any bed bounce complaints.

Hey man, I just installed 6112s, set at 1.9in on my 2017 last week. Alignment guy didn't say a peep about it and it rides great. Definitely a nice upgrade, and leveled it to within 1/10th an inch.

Did you change anything on the rear? I'm leaning towards the 6112s at 1.9 on the front and leaving the rear stock for a while. Your truck looks great - level looks perfect.

And I’m really hoping the 5160 tames the bounce on concrete highway..

Yeah for sure, just not in a rush. I'd go 285/70/18 when given the chance. Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I had 295/70/17s in their Trail Grapplers on my FJ and got almost 90k out of them.

If they filled it out too much or I just want more lift, I'd likely do one CB shim up front for another .5in lift, and 1 inch shackle the rear.

It rides really nice with the 6112s! You will be pumped.

Nope rear is stock. And it rides really nice. Debating between the 5160 and the 5100, but only because guys around here get me all pumped up for stuff I don't need. Reality is the stock rear is just fine for my highway driving

Thanks! I have the stock Michelin’s on as well. I hate to dump them with only 7500 miles. The 285s will be ok with no Mods?
I might look at the Falken Wildpeaks when I have the extra cash..

It should align with no issues. The 5160’s were much better then stock, and I never experienced bed bounce. It was a great upgrade!

Looks great! I keep being told that the UCA will not be necessary but you upgraded. Any particular reason?

I was told 2in was probally all you could go before you might run into problems.with getting alignment issue so I had the $ so I did, looks better than the oem too,and If down the road I want to go for a higher lift one less thing to worry about lol

Good point. I don’t see myself lifting past level at 1.9 so I was thinking I would roll with stock but I don’t want issues. I was told the same on my 2010 Tacoma, pushed it up 2 inches and the alignment was never good. They got it close to spec but it floated on the highway and felt loose. Ended up replacing the UCA. I get why you did it and it was probably a good call but I’ll try stock and hope all is good. I also had to do a diff drop on the Tacoma because I was getting clunking at low stop and go speeds. I was told that wasn’t needed either but it was. You getting any clunking?

DAP Tune. 1.5" level on front. Revolver X2 Roll Back. Firestone 2445 air bags. TRD sway bar.
I did 1.5” spacers the front of my tundra and love the way it looks. Almost level with rear and looks better than stock (looks like a 4x4 should). Absolutely no compromise in ride or handing either. Spacers, installation, and alignment under $300. Just got my Firestone 2445’s in and ready to install on the rear to help with the heavy loads.
