2001 Toyota Tundra 4.7L 4wd jerky hard acceleration

Just picked up this Tundra from a relative that has been neglected severely. Runs good at normal or mid throttle but at hard acceleration engine jerks as if you’re pumping throttle hard. Ran diagnostics with obd2 scan tool and got the following codes P0141 P0155 P0161 P0440 P0441 P0446
Advice on best route to start and what to check in abc order would be greatly appreciated...

 

First thing I would do is go straight to the dealer with your vin number and buy a brand new, slightly over priced (maybe) gas cap.

Then hard reset the ecu. And post up any new codes that pop up from there.

Maybe take a peek at the air filter as well.

Cleaned MAF and throttle body and checked air filter which didn’t appear dirty visually but I’ll replace it anyway. Also changed the gas cap. Drove it just a few minutes and no codes came up yet but the hard acceleration is still jerking like someone pumping the throttle

 

After driving the truck to work and back home I ran a code scan again to find the following errors P0141 P0155 P0161

 

How can I test to see which one it is?

 

Rebuilt engine with about 90,000 on it

 

I suspect that those may be O2 sensor codes. How did the code reader define them?

 

How long ago? Recent, like very recent?

 

Misfires are usually P030X codes. I wonder if the timing belt jumped.

 

Correction... motor was replaced and currently has 90000 on it.
Changed all the plugs and one coil that appeared to be misfiring also replaced air filter. Runs a lot smoother but still jerking at hard throttle. I’ll run a code scan after driving home from work to see what shows up and post the results

 

Ran a codescan specific for Toyota Tacoma 4.7 with ActronCP9185 and got this list:
P0141

It seems as though the more I do to try to help the more errors are come up with

 

O2 sensor codes
Igniter circuit malfunction codes for multiple cylinders
Cam sensor code

Did this just begin happening out of the blue one day? Was the engine run especially hard one day and then it started running like this? Was the engine over-revved hard?

I'm still wondering if this is symptomatic of the timing belt being off a tooth but honestly, I've never been involved with this engine. The only way to check if it's off entails a reasonable amount of disassembly if I'm guessing even reasonably accurately. You'd have to remove the timing cover(s) and crank pulley, and likely a bunch of other shit just to get that far.

The other thought is that it could be a wiring issue where rodents got in there and snacked away on the ignition system. That may actually be the easier initial search. Look for nests and poop. But you've already been working on it, you woulda noticed I'm sure. Dang man.

 

I’ll take it to the shop first chance I get and have em run timing check on it to be sure

 

your due for a timing belt change at 90K on the 4.7L anyway
