I'm new to the truck world and just got my self a 17 tundra crewmax TRD 4x4. it came with the 18" 275/65/18 tires. i wanted to go 20" with a 285/55/20 wheel. tried calling discount tire and tire rack and they are having different opinions. so all ya tundra experts. would a 20 x 9 wheel equipped with a 285/55/20 have issues on a stock suspension and height? (my tundra not lifted)

I would like to find out as well. I'm not too convinced about the Dunlops which it came with. I was looking to go with that size on the originals or 275/60/R20 all terrain tires.

    I believe my buddy's 2015 XSP-X package came with 285/55/20...wheels should be 20x9 +50 or +60 offset.

Thanks. They are BBS and I do believe they are +50. They are even with the outside of the fender and a +60 puts them inside the fender.

It seems the consensus is that a 285/55/20 tire will fit on stock wheels (ET: +50, +60), but will it fit with aftermarket wheels such as +25?

That's iffy. Mine are really close to the front mudflap, but doesn't rub anywhere anytime.

285/55/20 is slightly smaller than 285/65/18, which is not that much larger than stock tires (less than 1/2 inch taller, I think). You should not have difficulty fitting that to stock Tundras. Even with 25 mm offset wheels, it shouldn't be an issue.

I ran 275/65/18 (stock tires) on 18x9, 18 mm offset wheels and tires didn't even come close to rubbing. That was on stock suspension. Now I have 295/70/18 on 3.5 inch OME lift.

+1, that is what I have. I had a TRD ready go but switched gears when I saw that TSS OR had KO2s from factory. Really did not want 20s but had to compromise to get tires I needed. I run some pretty rough stuff on hunting ranch. Now will see how 20s do in the rocks.

Your truck looks awesome!! I'm in the same boat. I want 20s that are quiet and do the job in handling as well. I'm too old to have mudders going 24/7 on me :) The supercharger will be loud enough.
As much as I love lifted Tundras they don't look good if the truck isn't lifted with big off-road tires. But i was afraid of what it would look like with bigger tires and no lift.
I always compare what o want to the 2015-17 Tundra Pro. The 18" wheels/tires look tiny on that beast so I figured 20" should work and look great on the new Tundras.

I’m with you, I put TRD Pro shock set on my Limited DC. I hope to use with the stock 20x9 +50 offset Gunner wheels. If anybody out there knows if this will work please let me know.

Ha, I had to look through old pictures. Here's one before fender flares, without lift, stock tires on 18x9, 18 mm wheels (should tell you how much tires stick out).
