Moving from the existing 1.9 to the 2650? Would be very easy in my opinion. Most of the items remain the same.

So looking at around $850.00 for the install if I were to pay a shop?
From what I've read here the parts are around $1500.00
Hmmmm...is it really worth it to save $850.00 Bucks?
I'm gonna have to think about it.
My left hip is F'd up from a previous hip replacement so until I get that fixed it would kinda be a Pain in the As...Hip.
Anyone know a reputable shop in the Houston area?

I have no idea where you're getting those numbers. The shit you asked about is literally sub $1000 in parts shipped to your door and for top end parts too.

    Too many mods to come

So all you need to do is the pulley and injectors, and cooler plugs

*Dont forget fuel pump, if you didn’t heed the warning to install larger at the initial install.

    Thats what I thought.
    Obviously a miscommunication somewhere.
After going out to go to the store and finding I have a flat and a dead battery I can say I'll be paying to have them installed.
Just airing up the tire and dragging out the battery charger has my Hip is screaming at me!!
Need to stop procrastinating and get my Damn Hip fixed for the 3rd time!!!

Are you referring to the initial install of the Supercharcharger?
Had a local speed shop do the install so I certainly hope they installed the higher output fuel pump if thats what you're referring to.

    Okay....just to be clear.
I should already have the higher output fuel pump with the SuperCharger install.
So all I need are the injectors,Pulley and a tune?

Oh, your wording was throwing me off. Yes, $850 for just parts and you doing it yourself. Probably another $500-600 for a shop to do the labor if I had to guess.

If the shop installed the Magnuson supplied pump, it's undersized for larger injectors. Bigger injectors will gain you more, but then the pump will limit the fuel flow. If you bump the pump then you get the full capability of the injectors.

Pump + injectors > Magnuson pump + injectors > Magnuson pump + Magnuson injectors

They didn't install larger fuel pump as you said you're flex fuel.
So you will need a larger pump as others stated. Deatschwerks DW300 is the pump you want.

And should get a wideband too :D and the shop probably didn't know to pull the boost port plug so do that too :D maybe I was overly optimistic about how it was setup already

@Tundra Texan have you even floored it yet?

If it’s FFV then maybe a pump isn’t needed. Could see if it leans out or not with the flex pump first.

Not necessarily. You'd have to see if they grounded out the relay to put the pump in high mode.

A couple of notes about moving from the 2.9 Whipple to a 3.0 Whipple. It is almost plug and play to upgrade, but not quite:

    - First of all, the 3.0 is physically bigger (as one would think). Maybe I'm imagining it because it's shiny and new, but maybe not. Dropping the blower on to motor, it seemed a tighter fit than the 2.9 that I removed. I swear I just yoinked the 2.9 straight up and out; I had to cant the 3.0 a little, then go tail down to shimmy it in there. The rear of the manifold also butted up to the wiring harness in the back (just needed to gently build the bracket for clearance).

    Old 2.9

    New

    IMG_8378.HEIC.jpg

    - One of the few things that didn't bolt right up was the old IC reservoir; Whipple sent me a couple of parts with the new blower, including a couple of spacers and longer bolts that I assume were for spacing that away from the body of the blower. That's where I used them anyways. Really simple. However, because the unit is a little wider, I don't like how the two intercooler hoses are smooshed next to the fuel rail. Initially, I tried stacking them vertically, but that kinda pinched the bottom hose, so I refitted them side by side. I may build a standout bracket that moves the reservoir up, or maybe a small spacer and longer bolt on the manifold bolts that the entire bracket attaches to. For not, it works.

    IMG_8385.HEIC.jpg

    IMG_8386.HEIC.jpg

    - The second big difference is the snout. The 2.9 snout is YUGE. The 3.0 snout is YUGER. It's also a slightly different shape. Whipple supplied me with a new intake tube and the correct adapter to reuse a stock throttle body and air filter box upper lid; however, I quickly discovered that the direct mount adapter for my RCF adapter doesn't fit the new snout. So I had to dig out my stock TB and mount it up. It looks comically small next to the snout and adapter. There is DEFINITELY some room for a larger TB here... Machining inside the intake also looks pretty decent.

    IMG_8377.HEIC.jpg

    IMG_8381.HEIC.jpg

Since I was using an RCF throttle body and Magnusson upper lid and intake tube, I needed to do some figuring. On a stock vehicle with a stock intake and throttle body, they would bolt right up with the parts Whipple supplied, but the Magnusson lid sits a slightly different angle, and the intake tube has more of a bend in it, so that took me a bit of effort to make work. I tried using a ProSpeed TB adapter designed for Whipple'd tundras using and RCF TB, but didn't realize that they require you to machine the inside lip of the snout adapter adapter to "port" it. The o-ring for the stock TB sits right VERY close to where you need to machine the snout adapter, making it a permanent modification. I was using a direct mount Whipple to RCF adapter and assumed ProSpeeds adapter was the same. Dunno how I missed that. Oh well. So for now, stock TB.

I don't know how difficult it would be to obtain a new snout adapter from Whipple to adapt to the RCF, but I think it would be cheaper and easier to have a local machine shop mill one for me. Or have @snivilous figure it out for me...

Oh, and some dummy prolly shipped an extra pulley to @reywcms and could only find the training wheels pulley on the shelf.. :frusty:

Guess I need to order that 3" pulley. Or wimp out and order the 3.25" pulley..
