Did you also do the electrical wiring at relay?
I wouldn't start taking fuel pump out just yet.
There is also no harm in trying boost referencing the fpr. Get a tee off the boost port and hook a vacuum line from the tee to the fpr. Cap the port on intake tube. Doesn't cost much to try and easy to change.

What electrical at the relay? I don’t believe I did. And also I think I’m losing fuel pressure (will be testing soon). I’m starting to think it’s a connection problem because I’ve already changed the regulator, fuel pump and strainer.. i was thinking the connection inside the canister isn’t connected well

The vsv relay needs to be grounded to put the pump in high mode. I put a link in post #36 and it's post #27 in that link.
I use injector clamps or double hose clamp on pump hose.

Here is the post from that thread........
Basically pull the relay that's labeled Fuel Pump VSV... I attached pictures of Jeff Talors truck that he shared with me, as well as the page from the FFV SC install that points to the relay.

You can ground it to the shown tab by solder or just get a really long end of the stripped wire and wrap the prong very tight so that it doesn't move and then plug it back in.

Grounded it to the inside of the engine bay..
Tested it by listening at the back drivers wheel while a friend touched the ground to frame while key was on.. you could hear it click.

Isn’t that only useful for boost reference? Since I capped my switch valve there’s no other place for the fuel to go

But thanks! It’s worth a try before I get into other things. Hopefully this’ll fix it.

This also puts info out that is more searchable for people having issues. There is a lot to read!
Locations to try boost referencing the fpr. This is an easy one and most have good results. Plug vacuum hose off boost tee to fpr.

The FFV have a different fuel module that sends out different voltages for the fuel pump. Grounding out the vsv relay puts it into high mode, full voltage for 60psi.

Just checked under my fuse box. I don't see a ground coming out of it but I do see a fuse that was pulled in my spare parts box after the install was done. I see wires being mounted, I think that’s the coolant pump?

Yes that is the ignition fuse and your intercooler pump. Is that the vsv relay? For testing you can strip an inch off some wire wrap it once around ground prong and twist tie it tight then ground it. Verify it is the vsv relay, ground prong before testing!

Yeah I think it is the vsv relay. Was I supposed to have it removed?

You need make sure it IS the vsv relay.
Instead of soldering you can wrap the wire around ground prong, re-install relay and ground to body.
Did you read post #63? A pressure gauge will help verify or your afr's should be richer.

    It's not grounded from factory.
You already modified the the fuel system half way. There was more to it than just switching fuel lines.

No. The ffv and non have different fuel modules. That is for tricking the fuel module into high psi mode.
But you can do the boost reference as you saw in the general sc forum.

I just used a jumper between pins 5 and 3. Pins 1 and 2 are the coil in relay to close 5 and 3. Thus grounding the coil closes 5 and 3. I'm ghetto and just constantly closed the circuit for 60 psi mode all the time. Confirmed and can hear the fuel pressure switching valve activated every time I turn the key.

@ARES35 thanks for the updated vsv pinout.

@mralanle here is another way if you wish to do the 60psi mod. I realised the post I referred to has 2 mods in the same post. I asked ares35 to confirm his setup as he is FFV and has it at 60psi.
You can use to male spade connectors for the 2 fwd pins.

No problem at all! Its stated as a temporary solution but has worked out great for me. I can confirm with 750's, FFV pump, jumper, boost referenced I have no issues with fuel. Have hit 8's and misfired cylinders a few times when tuning lol.

@mralanle just wondering if you understand what needs to be done to complete the 60psi mod?
You can ground the relay as in post #63. I deleted the extra stuff so it won't be confusing.
Or you can remove the relay and jump pins 5 and 3.
It will put your fuel pump in high psi mode.

have you had issues with the battery draining or is that part of your post referring to something else?

Not sure about the battery draining issue. I hear the valve switch activated only when I turn the key.

Okay, what am I missing here?... I went to install the fuel pressure gauge using the racetronix adapter and gauge that was posted back on this thread. Disconnecting the fuel line from the rail was a piece of cake with those pliers (thanks for recommending that). When I attempted to slide the screw piece from the adapter over the flange on the fuel rail it wouldn't fit and doesn't appear to be the correct size. The flange on the factory rail was larger than the cutout on the adapter.

I have those on all 2 rails. Put the bottom piece under the lip. Ensure the o ring is in the body and screw them together.

I ordered the pressure gauge and fitting, but I’m in Utah at the moment until the 26th! Gonna retackle it again after I get back

See post #84 from @Mdl for the correct way to connect the fitting. I'd recommend the pliers as well which made quick work of releasing the clip. Easy install when you follow the instructions. :anonymous:

Thanks for all the info and links in this thread. I just ordered the rail adapter, gauge and some hose to measure my fuel pressure at idle, driving, WOT, etc.
