I think im probably gonna order some JBA Upper Control Arms. I dont want to be limiting myself with the stock UCAs . Or cause any damage down the road. Buy once cry once i guess, haha

jba’s have zerk fittings visible, so you’ll want to do ‘em when you change your oil, and it’ll remind you to do the driveshaft. I didnt add any to the ubj on the last oil change, but half a pump on each uca joint, and wiping off the excess has been working great.

@Sirfive Thanks for the heads up, im pretty good about doing my driveshaft when oil change time comes. What grease are you using for your JBAs? Ill have to add that maintenance step to the list!

For those of you that have done your UCA replacements yourself. Im seeing ill need a ball joint press. Any other special tools?

Is it possible to do the ball joint removal and install from the spindle without removing the spindle from the axle? Also, I dont have the strongest impact, will I need a pretty beefy impact for this job?

there’s a really long drawn out post of people trying and giving up in one of the sticky’s. You can do it, but you need the perfect cups on the press. It definitely makes life more difficult working under the fender. Timmy’s video is great and he took the spindle off.

here are some people that did it, in 20 seconds I think they are 4x4. They didn’t use oem, so obviously we can’t follow up since they died in an accident shortly after filming.

You'll see suggestions that pulling the spindle can make pressing easier but doing it under the fender is possible.

ut i’ve used red&tacky and some black mobil1 grease and havent had any problems. I really should label my grease guns, but i usually just grab the closest one.

I would only recommend the Solos to someone who likes to try to break their truck off roading. If that's you, then I say go for it.

Or if you just wanna burn money and earn internet cool points, then do it! :D

Is your rack leaking? If not, then I might be worth it just getting new inner and outer tie rods, bellows, and poly steering rack bushings.

Installed MBRP exhaust, pretty happy with it. It sounds loud up close but in the cab its not loud, unless accelerating.

If I had your luck, I'd probably have 2-3 spares with me at all times.

I can't remember if that truck has a build thread on here, but I saw it in person two years ago. Didn't talk to the owner much, but it was at an event not terribly long after he got it and it was not as modded.
