Question for you....I have the Diode Dynamics hitch light, and it plugs in line like this does. Can I just get another and plug it in there too, so basically have 2 plugged in, in line with one another?

I have no idea...how does the hitch light get power? Is it a 7 pin adapter or something different?

Yes. I have the hitch pod, the ss2 kit and my fenders all wired inline.

Sweet! Which part did you order to wire in the fenders?

I used a 7 pin to 4 pin harness. The. Wired all
My marker lights to that via custom harness.

Just finally installed the camo flares today. I had already added the TRD Pro rear spoiler, as well as the Heritage Grill with the “raptor” lights and light bar. I had my raptor lights just running off an ignition fuse tap prior to today. Today I did the 7 pin to 4 pin at the rear of the truck, ran hot and ground along the passenger side frame rail up to the engine bay. Tied all 4 fender flares, as well as the raptor lights into that. Works great.

I don't mean to be pedantic - but to be clear - this method actually ties the marker lights into your parking lights and not your daytime running lights. That means the following:

    1) They will illuminate when auto-headlights come on
    2) They will illuminate if parking lights are manually turned on
    3) They will not typically illuminate during the day with your forward facing daytime running lights.

I've seen a few people trying to debug some issues where these markers aren't illuminating w/ DRLs so just wanted to clarify!

Correct. That’s actually the way I prefer them to operate. I don’t want all the extra lights on if it’s not dark out. It seems pointless (IMO) for them all to be on during the day. I had my (Heritage) grill lights tapped into the fuse box before I did this method, and I didn’t like that they were on all the time.

Did they supply you with T taps or actual plugs? I just got mine in the mail and I’m questioning where to put the rear harness splitter. Has OEM style male and female plugs.

I ordered the Flares today from my local dealer. I'm still not sure how to wire them. I don't really care if they are on when the truck is on.

I would prefer to have just a plug and play option, as i've never done any electrical on a car before. I know trail hunter and rave have some options. Is the easiest way to have them always on with the 7 pin to 4 pin that I see being mentioned? and then a fuse tap? or does that go into something else?

Just get the plug-and-play harnesses for them from Rave.

If you want them always on then the rave offroad kit will work. If you want them to turn on with your headlights & parking lights then the 7 to 4pin solution is the easiest. Both are easy but the 7 to 4 pin isn't plug and play.

So the 7 to 4 only comes on when the head lights come on. Not at start up correct?

yes, mostly correct - they will also turn on if you manually turn on your parking lights.

You could buy the kit from Rave and just tie into the 7/4pin adapter instead of using the fuse splitter. So cut off the fuse splitter adapter and wire to the yellow wire from the 7/4 pin adapter. You'd still have to run a wire from the back of the truck up to the front but wouldnt be too difficult, then you would have harnesses for all 4 markers.

Just bit the bullett and bought the rave one. I'll probably use the add a fuse to start, and then if I need to or want to do the 7 pin later ( i'm assuming I still could do that right?)

Thanks. Still makes me nervous doing all of this, but figure I can at least try it.

Its more of the wiring that makes me nervouse, and pulling off tail lights. The fenders seem like they will be easy

Seems not long ago, men used to be men.

Too scared to remove a tail light? Really?
