Connector for 86120-0C030

Hi all,

First time on here; hoping you guys would know the answer. I have a damaged 2005 stock radio (part # 86120-0C060). I am looking to replace it with a 2002 stock radio (part # 86120-0C030) that I found at a scrap yard. Everything lines up except for the 12-pin connector pictured below. I've looked all over, but can't seem to find the connector I could put into the "new" radio. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Did you happen to notice if the 2002 had an in-dash amp? Because my first thought is, it was one of the earlier models that had an in-dash amp and is not compatible with your later-year.

Furthermore, which of the three radio systems did your later year have? JBL, Premium, or Standard?

And what cab type, so we know if/where the amp would be?

 

Later year has a standard radio. Not too sure whether the 2002 had an in dash amp. Here'e a photo I took a while ago of the donor's dash, can't tell if the grey box is an amp or not though.

Does that make the radio I got off the 2002 donor car unusable? When I plug the 20-pin connector into it functions but doesn't produce sound which lines up with the diagram above

 

Pretty much, unless you want to find some way to adapt.

I assume your '05 have a factory amp? You still haven't given us any cab information, so I can't even tell you where to look for an amp, although a lot of that info is in the 'Audio' section here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Reality is, I wouldn't attempt what you're doing. I'd get a radio from a compatible truck. But again, until you tell us (A) which radio you have, JBL or non-JBL, and (B) what cab type you have so we know where your amp will be, it's really hard to help.

 

Sorry I had forgotten about that. Its a 2005 access cab with a standard, non JBL radio and factory amp

 

No problem, I've got my head up my ass today. It's been a long ass day at work.

Yeah, I mean ... your amp is up under the rear passenger seat, just below the carpet in the storage cubby. Regardless whether it's the Fujitsu or JBL, I personally wouldn't want to dick around with trying to adapt it. But if you're feeling adventurous and you really want to try a re-pin, or at least see if there's any similarity, about 4-5 lines into that thread I just link you'll find a hyperlink to EWD/Electrical Wiring Diagrams. Pull one for both years and get digging.

Me, personally? I'd specifically be hunting for a JY with an '04/'05/'06 with non-JBL radio and pulling a new HU from that. Tundra/Sequoia should work universally, as long as there's no gold JBL logo silkscreened onto the face of the HU. And honestly, the JBL may work, but I have it stuck in my craw that there's some wiring differences, specifically extra wires with the amp (i.e. the speaker channels for the front door are different, at minimum, but maybe doesn't matter in this case)

As others have said, it won't work properly in your newer truck. It's also physically a different size radio as the 04 or 05 to 06 had a bigger opening for the radio.

Aftermarket would be your easiest option here unless you can find a later radio that meets the proper criteria.

 

I'm new to forums so bare with me . I just accuired a 2000 Tundra that has no radio. I prurchased a radio from Ebay that fits my truck but my truck has three connectors and the new radio only has 2. I was looking for the 12 pin connector in hopes of wiring in the radio. I plugged the 20 pin connector but nobody's home (no lights or sound). I had to do a LOT of wiring repairs on the Integration relay and other connectors . Help please

 

Pictures of everything would help a lot here.

 

Need pics, and need to know what harnesses you used. Happy to help, but you need to help us help you. Also need to know if you have JBL audio, and if you still have the OEM amp in the dash.

Also @tduck1 if you haven't read the "Audio" section in the 1st reply of THIS THREAD, you need to do so, ASAP. It will show you the amp locations, explain how to wire up, and give you a lot of the aha/gotchas that fuck most people up.
