I'm not as familiar with the Sequoia but the VSC light combined with brakes locking up seems like an issue with the traction control. Our RAV4 has the stupid auto LSD system that applies the brakes to slow wheel slippage.

For the price I would sure hope so. Was hoping to get a JBL SL aftermarket but that deal fell through so been eyeing sound ordinance 8". Has pretty good reviews so we'll see how she goes.

Yeah they are expensive, which is why I bought a 'scratch-n-dent' model at a discount from Crutchfield. I think they took off $50.
That 8" kicker has no business being as good as it is. 10/10 would do again. But I'd probably go with their 10" version next time.

Big Red (Toro ZMaster Commercial) update: I got a bunch of likes on that long post so I assume somebody might want to know.

This morning I washed it off underneath and found the bolt. I might not even have to jack the thing up to reach it. (Also pressure washed under the deck.....wow what a bunch of grass that washed out!)

Visited the shop. Bought a new belt, pulley, bolt, and bearing stand(?)----all for about $130.00. Parts due to come in Wednesday so I should have it back in-service before we have to go to Crackheadia again. :)

I tried, google tells me this is a single wire horn connector. Why would it be near the firewall on the drivers side? Alarm?

wow you are good. Thanks. Come to think of it mine doesn’t chirp. Guess I’ll buy a foam covered buzzer.

I reverse image searched and typed things like “red blue wire engine bay” but couldn’t think of more.

Does the sequoia use the wheel speed sensors like the 05-06 for speedometer? I'm wondering if it's not a sensor going bad. She said it's fine now but the lights are still on.

Did a search and saw some have posted some about same codes here. Not about the Tundra specifically. Just some general info that could apply to VVTi Tundras based on the codes.
We have been getting sporadic VSC trac and engine light with codes P0333, P0012, and C1201 on the 4Runner that has been getting progressively more frequent.

Cam position sensor on the way, and while waiting on it decided to address another possible cause: oil restriction, and/or sludge, affecting ability of vvti to advance, because last time I changed the oil, at barely 3K miles oil was coal black. Oil has always been changed as close to 3K miles as possible, but when I changed oil I could see some build up in the engine.

Decided to try the ATS 505 CRO I've had sitting around. Put in crankcase last night ran it for the 10 minutes at 2500rpm. Around 5-7 minutes in noticed the engine started getting, for lack of better word, quieter. Bank 2 usually bit noisier than banks 1. Sound about the same now.

Shut it off and immediately change oil while stuff still suspended in oil.
Barely been 1K miles since I changed the oil, and after running the ATS through it oil draining out looked like it hadn't been changed in ages. It was black, and nasty looking.

Little early to know if that fixed it, but wife said the lights didn't come on this morning like it has been doing (regardless it will get sensors installed when they come in.) but I can say that stuff sure strips some sludge out of an engine.

Supposedly the C1201, and P0333 can also be some how be caused by P0012 code, since it has the electronic traction control. P0333 does cause computer to disable the VSC, and traction control which is linked to the ABS system.

P0333, I'd expect rodents under the intake. Same with P0328. It can be a bad knock sensor but is (supposedly) more often the wiring, or a coolant leak into the valley impacting the sensor or its wiring. At least if this is a 2UZ-FE.

Those VVTi solenoids have a screen on them that can get clogged too. I've been meaning to pull mine off and check them out...

And they can leak oil in rare cases like with my luck....haha. I'm glad that you spotted that when we were under my hood. I still haven't had any issues from that area since then. I should have checked my screens then but I didn't remember at the time.

The 4runner was getting to where codes and check engine was doing it almost daily. Used to just come on then go off soon stopped somewhere and restarted it.

From what I have read and watched, not based on personal experience yet. On the specific scenario on the 4 runner with the occasional sluggishness, and clatter from timing issues, it can cause the P0333 as the sensor reads the engine vibration and knock from the lack of advancing timing which could be caused from sluggish solenoid.
Hoping the ATS cleaned out anything that could be affecting the solenoid. I was suprised how much it quietened down the 4 runner. Wife said it was noticeably quieter on start up this morning. Also have a case of Toyota oil filters on way, and will be replacing the wix as soon as I get them.

Will be running some of the ATS through the Tundra when it reaches 1K miles since my last oil change see how it does.

Need to run diagnostics to see if it has any codes that could be causing it.
I just posted about wifes '06 4 runner having the VCS issues.

I don't think yours has VVTi though so VVTi issues probably doesn't apply.

Yaw sensor, steering angle sensor, wheel speed sensor, and even a bad gas cap could potentially cause it. Had bad gas cap cause it with our 4 runner. That's why need to pull the codes to get an idea where to look.

    @shifty`
I think I went over all the suspension threads but didn’t see it addressed anywhere.
OEM springs seem to be side specific.
Are OME 2883, 2884 etc are they not?
I’ve got 4600 shocks ordered but researching coil springs using the OME I noticed some kits have a 1/4” spacer recommended for driver side to “correct driver side lean.”

Since I don’t want more than 1” lift in front wondering since I have weak springs anyway if 2883’s have any upsides vs new OEM.

Yup, I have VVTi. We both do. All 2005-2006 V8 have it.

Old Man Emu/OME springs are not side-specific.

I would take your before measures beforehand (center of wheel to edge of fender flare) for all four corners, install, take new measurements. As long as you measure from the center of the wheel to the edge of the flare, you'll get a true measurement of actual lift.

If you find discrepancy of more than half to three-quarter inch, you may want to consider the shim **IF** it looks weird to you. Your call.

I would go with the OME springs over new OEM. Trying to find the correct OEM springs in stock would probably be a FPITA, and frankly, you'll pay less $$ for OME, with more predictable results (I think?)

Anyone think I need to replace these hoses? They ‘seem’ ok but are super discolored which I’m assuming was from my coolant leak blowup. Either way I don’t know what these hose part numbers are.

I'm going to assume yours is the same as mine. That may not be a safe assumption. But here is my parts diagram which appears to have the same shaped hoses. Verify against your VIN before ordering.

    https://toyota-usa.epc-data.com/tundra/uck40/3806/electric/8716/

You're not gonna love the pricing, even with discount the largest one is like $60.

dayum! Thanks though. Would rather not have to worry about them though.

Edit: $150 for 3 small hoses! EFFF ME

I just went out there with some full strength simple green and they cleaned up pretty good. I think it was just the blow by when my radiator erupted and sprayed everywhere. Guess I'll save my hard earn money for now. I did notice the passenger side rear engine block to power steering reservoir grounding strap looked frayed so I may replace that.

If the hoses are soft and pliable without cracks, you can probably get by.
