I don't play with my phone much in the truck but I did buy this organizer in a bargain bin somewhere for a couple bucks shortly after I purchased the truck near 25 years ago. Not many cell phones back then. The fold down seat cup holders also securely hold a phone.

Years ago my father-in-law gifted me his old Stihl his father-in-law had given him in the 80s. He eventually bought a newer model, but it was very crusty after 25 years of daily use on my FIL’s pine timber place. It’s an 028 WB I last used in 2016 to fell and buck a bunch of trees on a property we bought. Tried to start it this morning but didn’t have any fuel mix. Took it all apart, cleaned the carb, air filter and spark plug, reworked the spark plug wire after it came apart on me, borrowed some fuel mix and it started on the first pull. 45 years old and runs like new. That thing is like the 1GT of chainsaws!

Any idea what this is? It’s below the drivers side headlight and the wires go through the firewall to the fuse panel area. Thinking it might be something from the trailer brake assist I removed when I first got the truck.

i thought that was either a temp

tap it with a hammer while the engine is running. See what happens.

Cool, I won’t cut it.

That would also explain why it’s so carefully ran in its own sheath. Figured it was the perfect place to run amp cables.

It should have a part number on it. May need zoomers to see it.

I mean pvc pipe or old cast iron pipes that aren’t filtered gives you that and more. But I agree nonetheless lol

There’s actually a protective layer that builds up over lead in lead pipes if you read about. It occurs both naturally (oxidation & minerals) and also from orthophosphates placed in the water.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be safe for consumption.

Well I never said it tasted good. haha

I usually drink bottled water anyway. I have reservations about getting my water from the Merrimack River.

Micro plastics bro. Either RO or at least charcoal filter that. Don’t want to go down a rabbit hole.
Merrimack is absolutely polluted to the core. Pollution beyond repair begins in New Hampshire. Idk where you live. But I wouldn’t touch anything in Merrimack that’s not filtered well. I watched a YT documentary about 10 years ago that has since been deleted and no longer accessible about the pollution. Ran deep, 70+ year old man was arrested and beaten by local sheriff dept for documenting the pollution. What I saw that he put online was absolutely horrific
Medical waste was used as primary fertilization on river banks for the corn crops. Literally black sludge was feeding the Merrimack

I sure am glad I own a 1st Gen Tundra. I just did an ODB scan on my Mom's 2005 MPV minivan. Bad coil pack or plug in cylinder 3, two bad O2 sensors, and a bad EGR. To get to the coils and plugs for cylinders 1-3, you have to take the whole damn intake manifold out, plus all the shit connected to it. I've been out of the game for a LOOOOOONG time, but damn, who designs this shit??!!! On my old Chevy 350, I could gap and change the plugs in 30 minutes. Haven't done it on the Tundra, but looks pretty straightforward.

Gives me a newly found appreciation for what mechanics have to deal with these days.

Replacing scuff protectors by the doors all the way around. I already purchased the replacements. I'm looking to remove the old adhesive prior to applying the new ones. Goo Gone didn't touch it, as I expected. Is 3M Adhesive Remover the best option? Paint thinner?

I like the Turtle Wax sticker & adhesive remover, if 3-in-1 oil doesn't work. But with it, or any other product, you need to work the product around with your finger, rubbing in circles firmly, to really angage the remover into the adhesive.

Before we moved rural we used to Distill about 1.5-2 gallons a day of our city water and then add back in the trace minerals. That stuff was like the best Gatorade.
I used to crave it in the summer because it would actually make you feel so much better. Tasted great too.
Our current well water is about the best I ever tasted, we got lucky.
    tracemin.jpg

You can over think it though.... like really how much of a difference does it make in the overall chemical "load" we take in?
I think our food contains so much bad shit now. Then factor in my 40 years in the trades and all the crazy shit I came into contact with...
And then for us who wrench... all the oils, coolant, brake dust, paints and solvents, polishes etc...
I bet anything in the water is a drop in the bucket for my exposure.
But we did it for my wife who is Hyper sensitive and has pretty serious autoimmune issues.

You only need two wires last time I checked and that’s pretty heavy gauge for regular non-sub speakers.

Just pulled the trigger on the new M12 3/8 in stubby impact with 550 lbs of ball busting force and a set of Grey Pneumatic 3/8 in wobble sockets and 1/2 in wobble sockets. Hopefully, they'll prove useful in the future. Figured it was best to get them now before prices skyrocket in the future. At least I got the impact with two free 12V 3Ah batteries for $189.99 via customer service and my 10% off coupon. Can't beat that since the price has jumped $30 now to $230 just for the tool.

I think I'm losing it though. I'm now up to 4 impact wrenches (two straight 1/2 in, one right angle 1/2 in and now a 3/8 in stubby).

Mmmm....wobble sockets. I keep meaning to put together a set of truck specific impact sockets for camping/road trips/exploring in the mountains. I do love my 1/2" impact wrench, but don't get to use it nearly as much as I'd like.

I figured the 1/2” would be useful for either replacing the upper control arm or UBJ on the Tundra and any future truck suspensions. Maybe not necessary but it’ll make it easier to do.

The 3/8” and impact extensions I bought will definitely be useful for the 2008 Impala I’ll be buying from the family.

Yeah, I need to remember to pick up a spare socket for the lug nuts and find an adapter so I can use the impact wrench for raising and lowering the spare. Getting tired of robbing my tool box for a go bag every time. Never enough tool sets.
