Thanks! And i thank everyone on here that took the time to explain proper maintenance. My local toyota dealership is adamant that the fluid is lifetime so people like me really do need yalls input when it comes down to important repairs/maintenance. After years of bad luck with cars this forum felt like a blessing to find haha.

If you hadn’t read, general consensus I’ve seen is 60k for drain and fill, every 30k if you tow a lot

Well, they aren’t technically wrong about the fluid… It will the last the life the transmission if you never change it - just not a long, happy life..

My dealership parts guy gave me the same spiel when I asked for four quarts of ATF WS for a truck with 30k on the clock. He tried everything he could to NOT let me buy it. I made a pint of finding him every 30k miles for the next couple of years to buy more ATF. He got the point and laughed about it.

30k miles is a good recommendation from a few transmission shops, as well as folks that work on Toyotas. It has worked well for me, though mine could have actually used it slightly shorter interval.

Okay, it’s done. It does seem to shift slightly smoother (maybe)
The ATF that I removed still had a little red color to it, but it was dark. The littlest amount of glitter against the white background of the bucket, and no foul smell to the old fluid with 120k on it. The drain and fill took approximately 3.5qts.
My normal operating temperature appears to be between 180°-200°f.
There are two transmission temperature sensors according to the OBDLink MX+. The first one seems more stable, and the second one jumps around a lot. Here are some photos of the job.

Great job. The lower more stable temp is your pan temp. The higher more volatile temp is the torque converter temp. It will match pan temp if locked for a while. When unlocked, there is more friction in the converter which cranks the heat up. They can be 50° apart at times.
