I went to Google and typed "2006 Tundra Owner's Manual", it looked like this:

I know this will be a great shock to you, but as you can see, this was the top result, direct from Toyota

    https://assets.sia.toyota.com/publications/en/om-s/OM34458U/pdf/OM34458U_edited.pdf

I highly recommend tapping to download that to your device for future reference, it's a good read.

Not wanting to go all AI over it, suffice to say about a 7:1 ratio for Lumens conversion.

why should I trust the G when i can invoke the powers of Tundras.com? Afterall, this site is known for exponential vetting of published data. No ?
However, I stand publicly corrected. How can I have forgotten: the MEGA Thread!
Alright...I'll just go over here now, kneel and do the requisite OurFathers & HailMary's....

I trust Toyota before I trust Google or the internet, so finding the PDF direct from Toyota is like the sky opening up.

    Yeah, I guess two takeaways:
    • Difference between bulbs like 921, 168, 194 is wattage, and every add'l watt is additional lumens, so if 921 halogen is 18W, and 168 halogen is 5W, and 194 is 3.4W, then not only can you see 921 will be exponentially brighter than 194, but you can factor out how much brighter, and realize: You probably don't want to use a 194 or even a 168 bulb for a critical safety light.
    • Likewise, given the ratio of 7:1 you're noting, you can figure out difference between LED and halogen output, how many watts in LED could be comparable lumens, etc. but I'd stick to what the bulb manufacturer claims for output about their lights over anything, and pick the appropriate LED that way.

    Speaking of Lighting & O'sManual...
Was 'Glove Box Light' an option for SR5 ?

Looked in GloveBox and in manual for 'Glove Box' light [as listed in Bulb Table] and see only a square recess on 'ceiling' of box, but looks like Yellow Molex [AirBag terminal?]...

It’s up in there but takes a weird shape bulb, only turns on if the key is in the ON position and the glovebox is open (as if we don’t need a glovebox light when the key is out???!!), and I had to use right angle needle nose to get the halogen out, carefully, w/o smashing it.

    thx @Shifty
    Understood...access is a Minor PITA.
Ive removed the Glove box 'ceiling' [3 phillips screws and then pop'd off the molex terminal in order to release the box 'ceiling' so I could see WTF my fat fingers are trying to access.]
Theres a hinged plastic grill/cover blocking access. It has a release tab is at the back of the assembly [counter-intuitive] and needs squeeze or push [also counter intuitive] w/fine tip needle nose [used to pull old bulb too] to pop open to get bulb out.
I suppose you can cut the grill/cover off to permanently have clear access to the bulb. [but Toyota worried about an exposed molex...or to keep glove box items clear of bulb..[its relatively deep seated; you'd really have to be a packrat to make contact].

DOH! Didnt realize the Key ON req'mnt !
    Bottom line at the monent:
Just put a VM to it [Molex] w/key ON; no current...the old bulb was smoked, so had power at some point in its life.
According to O-man'l, fuse is same for
position 36 [interior panel] TAIL 15A....Signals, Tails, Instruments, LicPlt, Prking & GLOVE Box ....
    Theyre all operational, except GloveBox....

For anyone who hasnt been there, heres some pics of the Top part [ceiling?] of glovebox, bulb and socket..
Box as installed, cam looking up
    20250808_123822.jpg

    Glovebox 'ceiling' removed
    20250809_132547.jpg

Pen is pointing at release lever to open cover 'grill'; requires push towards back of box while pulling down on grill. Not easy w/boxtop in place; thus 3 screws to remove, but also req'd disconnect of Molex terminal.

    Your move...

Presuming key requirement to avoid battery discharge fr/leaving glovebox open ?

If the OEM feed circuit is dead, I may look at 'piggy-back' tap to Cargo light circuit. [Now that I know how to operate it ]
For now, a 'min-mag' in glovebox; Not sure OEM circuit trace/trouble shoot is worth ROI.

I replaced the bulb in my glove box and it still doesn't work. Currently isn't a high enough priority for me to look into it too much. Maybe if I ever have that half of the dash torn apart.

If LED, maybe installed backwards? I can see a previous owner breaking it, or maybe yanking the wire to use it as a ACC-only power feed.

Hmmm, if you mean the 2 wires into the Molex for the glovebox socket?...I'd expect that to be a very light power feed; those conductors are about 20 or 22 gauge.

I think that would probably work great for a dashcam, a GPS car tracker, an MP3 player, or similar device.

Trust me bro, I've seen (and done) some shit.
