I may adopt "cracktivities" but not in the way it's being used here.

("Cracktivities" = the activities crackheads engage in). :monocle:

Thanks. Never knew about those but can see them now in your first Pic. Was that an option on your truck from the factory or is there a writeup on how to add? Guess that's another project for the list....

I'm at a loss here....why the desire for a light under the side mirrors?

So someone doesn't step in mud or cow manure or off a cliff or whatever coming out the passenger side I guess. If it came on with remote unlock I guess that could be good too. Otherwise if it moves when opening the door it seems like a bright courtesy light in the door card would be more effective for exiting. That was an LED upgrade had planned along with the bed / 3rd brake light assembly, map light, and backup lights.

They’re puddle lights. They illuminate the area you go through to get into the truck. Lot of newer/luxury vehicles have it. Especially convenient when camping so you don’t step in or on something that could ruin your trip. The wife’s gx460 has them and lights coming off the running boards as you approach the vehicle.

Yeah that would be good for remote unlock and approaching the vehicle. Stopped using the remote 15 years ago as it was so big to carry along with keys and the remote battery died .... So do you have a writeup or link to parts to add this?

"Puddle" lights, the answer is in the name. Really helpful if you live someplace where it rains 9 months out of the year. They only come on when getting in and out of the truck, not while driving.

Got tired of the steel ramps digging into the asphalt and did the wood block ramp approach. Found I only need two boards high to get underneath from the side to spray rust penetrant. Now I just need to order the upstream O2 sensors from Rockauto.

It's simple math and geometry that prove diff drops are useless. Where someone works doesn't change that fact

Yeah, ironically two of you wanted two at the same time. Figured I’d eventually sell the other pair and now they are gone. So all I well and I have to make one more, maybe tomorrow.

I'm just saying the principal seems pretty sound. There's a reason that's a job. Y'all say the math don't math. I disagree.

Diff drops don’t do much for CV angles. Most simply tilt the diff a few degrees.

Do you understand the math? To me, the math is much more sound than Homer who works on something completely different than a truck

Side note: I remember when I was a teenager or something, there was a anti-drug PSA that used that song with the hook, "Don't know much about the drugs I took..."

I'd like to watch that one again.

Looks great! I tried to steam clean mine recently--I didn't love the results but was my first pass and attempt using a steam cleaner. Used it on most of the interior though and not just carpet (dash, trim, doors, ac vents, etc). I think I've had a more noticeable difference using a Bissel carpet/upholstery cleaner for the seats and cloth part of the interior. What did you use for everything else?

I used the Hoover carpet cleaner with upholstery attachment for the seats and carpets. I pressure washed the center console lid recently, but the door cards have only ever seen some light soap and a soft bristle brush. Other than that, the dash, plastics and door jambs are wiped down with a little soap and water on a microfiber cloth and then dried with a dry microfiber cloth.

is that the two wire in the middle that goes to nothing? I didn’t know Toyota even had heated seats in 2006.

When I installed mine (before I was smarter) all it did was slightly tilt the diff forward. It didn't even drop it due to the crossmember.

Yeah that's what the cheaper (non arm replacmeemt) spacer drops do is tilt it supposedly resulting in 2-3 degree cv angle restoration. Maths out.

Yea I took my diff drop out and gained a decent amount of clearance and saw just how little it actually changed the angle on the CVs, if at all. Like you said just tilted it forward slightly and killed much desired ground clearance. No thanks!
