Yeahhhh, sometimes I think about having more power (coming from someone with the 4.7) but in all reality this motor has a ton of torque and loves the top end, but I absolutely despise the shift points on the A750; and the ECT is locked so it can’t be tuned

Maaaaaan, you just don't know! I'm getting older. My dad's about to be in his late 60's now. My dog is getting older, LOWER THAT THANG & drive it fast.

You'll still have an offroad 4x4 Tundra.
Lowering a Tundra a few inches and making it faster isn't a crime. It's fun as hell!

ideally I would actually slam my current one since its a regular cab long bed, but then I would have to build the motor for boost since the connecting rods are weak- and dont worry I def drive this thing fast LOL

Made some progress on my spare lower control arm project.

Got some free lower LCAs from a buddy that went long travel. The ball joints were no good.

the LCAs them selves were in decent shape. I found aftermarket polyurethane bushings so I took the project on. Finally got around to messing with the bushings. Found a great video on YouTube where a user used a vice, propane torch and a bottle jack to ease the bushings out. Was fun and worked like a charm.

Finally finished my LCAs. I only drove it around my neighborhood, and while the alignment is a little wander-y, I do wish I replaced my passenger side outer tie rod because the truck steers so much easier with only the driver's side being new. At least that's an easy replacement when the time comes. Luckily I didn't have to cut three of the four sets of cam bolt that were on there because whoever replaced the LCAs before used a generous amount of anti-seize (thx u), saved myself some coin there.

New OEM LCAs on both sides
New OEM sway bar end links on both sides
New OEM driver's side outer tie rod

Next up, new eibach coilovers & rear reservoir shocks.

No picture but I’ve been hearing a noise coming from under the truck lately. Thought it was wheel bearing or the brakes I recently replaced. GF said she felt vibration last time we heard it in her feet.

Got under the truck today and found the heat shield or covers over the catalytic converter right below the passenger had the bolts that clamp it together broken on one side. The upper half was banging on the bottom of the truck. Broke off all four bolts and temporarily installed new bolts until I can find better ones.

Anyone experienced these bolts rusting and breaking?

Not personally but with enough heat, rust and vibration they’ll definitely have issues

serious question, but can you describe the noise?

I am getting a slight higher pitched rattle noise at lower speeds from under the car in the front. Like as soon as I accelerate from a stop it makes a quick metal tin can rattle for a couple seconds then stops

Yeah sounds like it could be either the heat shields on the cats, heat shields on the body or potentially the cats are falling apart; you could get under there while they’re cold and hit them with your hand and see if they or the exhaust rattles

good idea. It’s been driving me nuts lately. I never thought of the cats. I got under there before and was hitting and pulling on everything else with no luck

Installed this cheap upgrade today. Nice to have one-touch auto window controls on all four windows. And the one-touch up as well, not just down. The white LED instead or orange is nice too, but now I'm gonna be tempted to swap all my orange lights, haha. A guy had it locally on Marketplace cheap after selling his Tundra, so I decided it was worth the price.

Just be careful if you have kids, those switches seem to be lacking the ability to do the anti pinch feature

Thanks for the heads up. My 5 year old always likes his window up, so it should be good on his side. We'll see how the younger one is as he gets older...but we have a couple years before he can reach the top of the window.

It’s hard for me to describe but honestly when I first heard it to me it sounded like a semi when they engine brake. What gave me the ah ha moment and to focus on that area was my GF said she could feel the vibration under her feet.

But what you describe sounds like what mine did. I only heard it when the cats were cold. Once they heated up and I guess the airflow was less turbulent, you never heard the noise.

Cleaned underneath and around my battery tray today and installed new post clamps. It ain’t much but it’s honest work. Does the truck always not start the first time after disconnecting the battery?

Not always, but it's pretty common. It's kind of like when you clear the cache of an app on your phone, it looses some of the learned information and will relearn it shortly.

Yeah it should take two starts everytime you disconnect the battery, it’s a pre system check

Yeah the first start after disconnecting the battery it barely starts at all and dies immediately. It sounded the exact same each time.
