I’ve only got 27 miles on them so far, but already a huge improvement over stock!

Not yet, those still have plenty of life left, I’ll change those toward the end of the year.

This makes zero sense to me. The stock plate is virtually worthless and you can still incur damage while city driving considering all the debris on the road. And more important to me would be the oil filter access door on the TRD plate. Can't imagine having to change the oil regularly without it. TEHO

Interesting you have 3 recalls for your 19. My 18 had only one recall, for dim parking lights that required repositioning in of the connector. Some here posted the fix so I did it myself. My truck has been trouble free so far, but I don’t put many miles on it, @41K miles now. I bought one of the adapters that can do the 12v pllug in with voltage, and 4 USB. Two which are the new USB - C .. I noticed it read 11.1 v. Truck still starts but it may be time to replace the original battery.

Does it stay powered-on when the ignition is off? Does the display continue to draw power when the truck is off? Does it get hot with prolonged charging?

The stock plate is easy to deal with. My CBI skid requires me to remove 8 bolts to open the filter access panel and the drain plug (4 on each panel). The stock plate is also 8 bolts if memory serves, and very easy to manipulate out of the way. But with the stock plate removed I have access to the entire underside of the vehicle rather than working at a filter housing through an opening barely big enough to fit both my hand and the filter housing through. So it’s easier and less mess to change the oil with the stock plate. Even my RCI skids make it more difficult, and I have access to the fumoto valve without removing a second access plate.

As for robustness, the stock plate is much more robust than people give it credit. Mine has absorbed 2x4 strikes on the freeway, bird strikes on the highway (it was like playing pretendo duck hunt but with a full size truck…), slow speed rock strikes, a few gravel road beachings, and a plethora of other abuses most folks don’t see. An aftermarket plate is definitely better, and I run them on all three rigs if for no other reason than the transmission plate, but you still can’t use any of them as a lift point for jacking up the vehicle. The dent in my steel CBI shows that. For what 98% of people do with their trucks, I’d surmise that the stock plate is sufficient - and easier to deal with.

I have the metal RCI skids. I used my floor jack to jack up the front to bring both tires off the ground. It only put some scratches on the skid plate. I had no problems.

Finally getting around to install some mods I have had laying around for awhile. Installed heated steering wheel, hooked up the MagSafe charger to replace the Scosche (RainMan) Moved my back window switch along with install single NSV switch in Black Cat Works custom switch panel. Still need to fill one spot of get a blank cover. Throwing in a photo of the Tundra with my daughters FJ.

Got my OTT tune done by Appalachian Toyota Tuning today. Went medium/spicy. So far I like it. Maybe if I get back in his area I will see if I can replace the spicy for super spicy but overall I am happy with everything so far!20250729_203947.jpg 20250729_203455.jpg

Went to the Toyota dealership to have a 2nd key made and install the front skid. It was part of the sale. Three hours at dealer and hour drive each way. Ohh well

It goes off with the ignition off. It turns on with the accessory being on. I have not done prolonged charging yet with it, but I would think it will be hot. Nice to have a USB-C socket as the 2018 did not have one.
