Man... Did my transmission drain and fill but forgot to bypass the external thermostat sensor earlier this morning. I had to add more and redo the fluid level.

I'm not sure what would happen if i don't bypass the external sensor and I don't want to find out.

I don't think it hurts anything at all, it's just a t-stat. If you don't pin it, your fluid in the cooler doesn't get cycled through the system when you do the 'check plug' procedure.

    Just did mine yesterday.

LOL Bothered me way more than any chrome trim piece, or any other aesthetic mod. To each his own.

I refilled with a little over half quart. I got out only about 1/2 of what I put in before I start gargling. Then I closed it up.

I feel better about the second time around. I just didn't want to put less than what the transmission needed.

    Thanks for the info.

I did it at 105. It's kind of in the middle between 99 and 115.

New Rubber this weekend: Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent 275/60 20s added a little more meat around the rims. While I love the bigger tire setups, this is a 2wd that sees only occasional light offroad stuff. Keeping the OEM height keeps all the dominos from falling (lesser ride quality, stressing the suspension, LT vs P tires, higher height and heavier rubber means lower mpg, etc) and I can still get it in the garage.
Got alignment checked, all dead on.

Finally got my replacement millimeter radar part in from ebay. Pesky PCS error for 9 mos now. Got it all hooked up, let the truck sit without battery for half an hour, turned the key and...
Dang if the error didn't come back up. This PCS crap is really irritating me. I don't want to have to pay Toyota diagnostic costs but maybe the only alternative. (Even checked the camera up on the windshield. I noticed that thing gets mighty hot. Unplugged it and noted the LCA and high beam errors jumped up. I don't think replacing that will solve this...)

Those system have to be calibrated, have they been recently?

No, never. The PCS error started coming on intermittently for a few weeks (about a year ago) and eventually stayed on. I've heard some about calibrating but the truck had no modifications or changes when the error started.

Tires look good. I am actually considering those. How do you like them so far. Good ride, handling, etc. Reviews seem good but not a ton of good real world info yet. Thanks.

They're still hardly dirty but so far:
When bought used 3 yrs back, truck had set of Pathfinders A/T (Discount Tire Brand tire which are very decent mid-grade 50k tires). As they entered the 40k mile realm, started getting loud and meandering a bit (rotated every 10k miles).
These Duelers only have 40 miles since Saturday but immediately felt:
    - Less rolling resistance/"faster" feeling
    - Very agile on cornering and handling around the surface roads here.
    - Incredibly smooth as soon as I backed out of the parking lot.

These are in comparison to the fading midgrade tires so of course a good bit of that expected.
For now, very happy with them... I'll have a few hours on the highway later this week for a work trip and see if the good vibes continue. No reason to think they won't.
