Rear ABS Speed Sensor Connector Wires

2005 DC, SR5, 4wd, v-8 Replacing just the connector that plugs into the sensor and the colors on the existing connector are Blue and White. The new aftermarket connector has a black and white wire. Does the white go to white, and blue to black?

(Note the links to "Tundra" and "Sequoia".

It will tell you the order in which the wires should go.

 

I know this won't help but your wire colors and connectors aren't the same as the diagram..

I don't see the wiring to the actual rear sensor.

 

Unfortunately you won't find that in the EWD per say. With the ABS rear sensors, there is an initial 4 pin connector(A19) at the rear that branches off....2 conductors each to RH and LH side.

However, since the sensors are simply resistive, the 2 conductors of new connector can go either way.

 

Actually, to this point, if the original connector is intact, as long as OP positions the connector in the same orientation as the original, and secures it using solder/heatshrink, or a waterproof butt splice, it will work as intended.

 

Why not repin your wires into a new connector. Toyota sells the connectors. @daveeasa can also recommend the correct Sumitomo aftermarket connector.

 

I mean, the aftermarket connector should accept the same pins, so it should be feasible to unpin each wire from the existing connector, and re-pin into the same position on the aftermarket connector.

 

Perhaps the pins are not as bad as they look but from my couch those pins are beyond useable. Might as well do it right the first time.

 

All I know is @joeramirez should swap out the unsealed butt splices they gave him for sealed ones. Given those wires are outside, will take on water, and are linked to a safety system and also his speedometer's ability to read (I think, is it rear or passenger front right, I forget?)

Always sealed/waterproof butt splices.

 

This is apparently the acceptable way to repair it on $35,000 first gens.
