Am I insane for considering paying 23K for a 05 DC?

Yeah absolutely not. I bought a 2006 DC with 134k in 2018 for $9k and sold it in 2021 for $9.5k. Was a great truck and I loved it, but it was still just a truck and going 3x over KBB is a really good way to wind up losing $18k if you get in an accident. Until it can be tagged as an antique and insured for full "value" (which is super unlikely to be $25k any time soon considering how many of these are still on the road), it's a bad idea.

That's friggin awesome! But get rid of the Subaru plate frame.

The closest I ever came to that was when I had a 1979 Camaro in 1998. If I hold onto my 2006 Tundra a bit longer, I might achieve such greatness.

Sad it doesn't say BLKSNK or BKSNEK. Although the later may confuse some New Yorkers into thinking you're a snake from Brooklyn.

Custom vanity costs money. Classic is included at no extra charge. I'm cheap on certain things.
