I tried searching, but couldn't find what I'm looking for so if someone knows where I can find a similar thread let me know.
I bought some LED strip lights to install in my bed. The directions they give show taking it up to the battery to install. I thought I saw on here or another site that someone just hooked them up to the cargo light circuit so they came on anytime the cargo light was on. Can someone help me with how to wire them into the cargo light circuit.

Thanks Ron! I've been waiting to install some puddle lights and I'm gonna use your advice to wire 'em. I installed sliders today so it's now time for the lights.

Thanks for your help. I'm going to try and install them this week. Hunting season is coming up and it's always a pain in the ass trying to find stuff in the bed since I have the cover on it. Hopefully this will brighten it up a little.

Where did you ground it to the frame at? Is there a screw somewhere that you attached it to? Or did you add a screw somewhere? Can I just hook it into the ground wire that is in that same wire loom?

Last questions for you. Did you add a fuse when you hooked into the wire? I fished the wire up into the door scuff plate area and into the bed so now I just need to get the tester to determine exactly which wire it is. It looks like there are two wires that are very similar in color. Also did you do anything to protect your wire where you ran it up through that drip hole? I had to cut the outside insulation off of the wire they supplied in order to get the wire up through there so it's just the small wires and I'm afraid they may rub there a little and eventually short out.

Thanks for all of you help. I appreciated it. That wire and the wire that is the 4th from the right I think are the two I am having telling them apart. My lights say to use a 3 amp fuse so I may pick one up.

My Tundra came with this feature (LED bed lights) when I bought it. Looking on the Toyota web site it was like a 200-250 dollar adder. Well worth it since I duck hunt a lot.
I also changed by top back cab lights to LED and they are a lot brighter than the crappy stock bulbs.

Got it all wired up and it is working great right now. When I was hooking it up, I must have shorted it out because I blew a fuse, now that it's all hooked up it's good to go. Now I just have to wait till it warms up later this week to actually stick them on and finalize the wiring.

Bought same thing on Amazon this week and just installed. No wiring. Works great! Installed light at cab end and switch switch within easy reach of the tailgate under tonneau. No wires. No fuses. Perfect for me. Thanks for the idea. @SuperSilverTundra

Comes with two 3M sticky squares on the back of the light. Mounted light center cab-side bed.

Controller mounted just inside right side of tailgate using the provided velcro.

Nothing fancy, but works for me.

Boom, there you go. Ran out of batteries yet? I would assume they last a long time being LED's. Might get a 4 pack of these and really light up the bed, or start with two. Thanks!

Haven't needed to change batteries. Great thing about this light is one control button turns on all of the led light bars within range.

just finished installing the Toyota bed light kit in my 2016 very nice kit but definitely don't follow the instructions from Toyota, do what ron said wires right under drivers rear step pad you can fish them right in tru existing holes in body and there is a threaded 6mm hole right under there too for the ground connection. my 2016 the cargo light is a brown wire.

I went with two just to get a little more coverage. Not completely necessary but it covers almost the entire bed except for the front portion right under where it is mounted. IMG_2607.jpg IMG_2606.jpg

Yup! I just realized that my remote is different from the original poster. Mine has an on and off button. A smidge annoying instead of just hitting one button to turn them off and on. So make sure to get the listed in the bottom of the thread.Go me, ha.
