I can confirm this works, had my 2024 Tundra TRD Pro programmed to the key card today. Virgin factory OEM keycard purchased direct from a dealership is my recommendation. I purchased an “brand new OEM” keycard on eBay with a free emergency uncut key. The keycard wouldn’t program. They tried 2x, the assistant foreman and the foreman. My advisor offered to order me a new card, and let me return it if they couldn’t program it. Went back today and the dealership ordered keycard was a successfully programmed. Also they had difficulty with cutting the “free” emergency key, they said it wouldn’t align in the machine properly. It’s doesn’t even fit in the glovebox. Thankfully seller has a return policy. A dealership ordered keycard doesn’t come with the blank emergency key, that has to be ordered separately, which I didn’t know. IMG_9166.jpg image.jpg

I meant to respond with my experience as well. I tried programming my fleBay key yesterday and also was a no-go.

There’s something different about that key even though it’s the same frequency and all.

I’m going to wait until next week around the 4th to see if there are any sales going on for the key part number. I’ve got the process down with my version of Techstream just need the virgin OEM key card.

I’ll do a how-to for others who want to program it themselves when I order the new key and get it done.

I read back through your post and the notes Toyota wrote. You've got a great dealership. I highly doubt if I brought my fleBay key in to my dealer and asked them to program not only would they not do it, even if they did, they'd for sure charge for the programming fail of that one and the new key and to program it again. I haven't tried but just some of the experiences I've come across with my dealer I wouldn't be surprised if they did that.

My dealer here in Richmond refused to order me one and if I brought one in from eBay or another dealer they flat out told me they wouldn't program it. I called Toyota Care to complain and they said the same thing, it couldn't be done.

I guess eventually they'll do one and then loosen up and start allowing it.

I bought from the same eBay seller you did. I assumed that they unlocked it/revirginized the key. This is not the case. I received my key today. I cut the insert key and tried to program it using my smartpro programmer. It failed so I tried to unlock the card using a smart unlock feature through another programmer but it wouldn't fit inside the loop to allow me to unlock it. I would have just ordered the key from my key suppliers but they don't offer the card. I have bought hundreds of unlocked grade A refurbished Toyota & Lexus prox keys from my suppliers and never had an issue. It should also work on '25 models since the FCC on the OE prox key hasn't changed at all. I'll order one from the dealership and hopefully it programs without any issues the next time around.

Let us know how it goes. I’ll chime back in too after I get my key ordered from a dealership. I’ll probably get it from Ourisman in the next week or 2 unless someone else has a good sell for the holiday.

If anyone is thinking about getting this, get it now. Most of the great dealer sites are running discounts for the 4th.

I just ordered mine from Fred Anderson for $178.78. Lowest I’ve seen it so far.

Just ordered mine... called my dealer first to make sure they would at least attempt to program the key. Very excited, thanks for posting!

I went ahead and ordered both parts from the dealership and can confirm both the digital card key and the emergency key work for the 2025 Tundra. I had originally purchased from eBay and that was a fail. The digital key wouldnt program and I believe the dealership I used for the emergency key cutting didn’t work. I worked with another dealership for the emergency key cutting and came out perfect. It’s so cool having my key in my wallet and not having to worry about it.

I also ordered from eBay and had the same issue. Dealer tried and tried to program the key card with no luck. Just ordered from Fred Anderson and was able to get the 4th pricing. Hopefully this works.

I got mine programmed today. It was easy once I got the process down. Definitely love the key card. Here's my post of the write-up if anyone is interested.

Got my new key card programmed at the dealer today... works great! It seamlessly linked to my profile and already knows it's me. Now there's one less thing I need to shove in my pocket.

Got mine done today. I bought the card and key from a different dealer for around $200 shipped, and it was $170 for the programming and key cutting. They first quoted me at $100 for 0.5 hr labor hours, but they said it ended up taking closer to 0.8 hrs.

It was the first one they've done at this dealership so I was met with quite a bit of skepticism at first, but they managed to get the whole thing done with zero problems. It's a nice little card for sure.

Has anyone sprung for the actual physical key that slides into the card fob?

I decided I’d just hide a spare battery under my truck in a lock case. I’m hoping that will work when the battery does die so I’m not stranded.

I did - the dealership was able to cut it to match the original keys with no issue. Figured I might as well have it on me.

    Here's a Q for the group that I'm embarrassed I can't figure out myself...

Got the new key card, it works great... but how do I tie it to my profile?

I have my first original fob tied to my profile - I'd like to keep it that way - and the second original fob is tied to my wife's profile. Works great switching back and forth automatically.

Enter the key card fob. It is not tied to any profile at the moment. Can I tie it to my profile AND keep the original fob tied to my profile as well? If so, how? I can't figure it out. From what I can tell you can only have one fob tied to your profile. Is this true? Someone set it straight for me please.
