Transmission Temperatures on 2019 - 2021 Tundras

I'm going to be redundant & also belabor this topic.

if you are lucky enough to have a Tundra WITHOUT a cooler, get a cooler.

it makes a remarkable difference.


I presently run an ~80 degree delta to ambient - under most situations. (SG3 monitor)

when I tow, I get a smidge higher.....but never above 200 in the pan.

 

Another thread with good info. If you search, there are more. For me, I ended up adding the cooler. Allows freeway driving on hot days, towing, and use of 4WD Hi without seeing temps hardly ever over 200 degrees, 185-195 range is typical now.

The 4WD HI thing is a good point that a lot of people might not even think of.

 

I have 19 Tundra with the genuine cooler kit, thermostat pinned. Pulling a 2.5k lbs boat in 6th gear 70mph, never seen over 175 pan temp degrees with a mid 90 ambient temperature on the highway, but it will get up to 190 in town with or without trailer if stuck in traffic.
