Damn, it ain't completely broken then you are lucky....
I have had mine in there for a few months now, and just very recently, the last two three weeks? I have felt the airflow to be more than what it usually was....
Not sure if it was just my nerves delay but, haha.....

Just like me, an old man, needing time to warm up, and then it is winter again....

Turned the fan all the way up this morning, full blast, it sounds like my old one at 2-3 clicks. Huge improvement in that alone and makes it worth it to me.

Just installed my upgraded blower motor a few minutes ago. It really makes a huge difference! First off no more tapping or clicking sound from the motor and I noticed it moves way more air that my motor from 2020!

Just a random guy off the internet who wanted to say thank you to all the Tundra Heads in here and shout out @Jowett specifically. I ordered the upgraded Land Cruiser brushless blower motor and installed it myself in like 10 minutes if that. I’m not a mechanic by any means either.

I ordered 87103-60560 and it does feel stronger than original blower motor and quieter as well. Thanks again @Jowett

    Many on the way.
The newer 3rd Gen trucks appear to already have a brushless motor. There are a couple of different part numbers though, so it is possible there may be an better performing unit, but you will have to research that for yourself.

I finally got around to I installing this.

    I gotta say.....this thing blows......hard! Lol

The difference is much more than I thought it would be. I could hear (maybe) a slight electronic sound but nothing crazy. Very happy with the 20min upgrade.

After a month of it sitting in the box, finally found some time to get it installed.

Leave it to Tundras.com to get me excited about an HVAC blower motor upgrade, never would have known about this without this place.

The new part fit right in, and must say its so quiet, when I tested on speed 1 I thought I blew a fuse or something as I didn’t even notice it turn on. Cranked up to the max it has quite a bit more airflow (my cabin filter is currently 6 months old), and would probably be even more when I get to change it. The best part is, it’s much quieter, only a slight sound from the brushless motor. Very happy with the upgrade overall. My kids will be happy riding in the back this summer, got this installed just in time before the heat wave this week.

Anyone have their new brushless unit stop for 3-5 seconds and then turn back on?
I’ve had it happen 5 or 6 times now, it’s almost always on full blast when it happens.

I have never had the need for it to be on full blast (and I am in Houston....) so can't verify.
    But sounds like voltage drop?

Never experienced that yet. I’m running part # 87103-60560. I’m in the Utah desert and run my AC full blast all day long as I drive to different job sites. I also leave my truck on while I’m at said job sites. Yes I’m that guy lol

It’s on full blast cause I’ve got a black truck and an almost 2 year old daughter. Trying to cool the interior quicker for her in the back.

not a big issue that it turns off, just curious if anyone else has encountered that

I never have. Maybe spray the connections with some electrical cleaner and electrical grease. I don't have a great idea of how to fix it, just another person confirming it isn't normal.

Honestly, if the part was recently installed, I'd contact the dealer you purchased from and see what the warranty period is. They may not cover it since it was installed in a Tundra, but doesn't hurt to ask because like others have said it shouldn't be doing that.

You may want to also check the connections and make sure a 'pin' within the connector didn't get bent or someting causing intermittent contact issues...

    Good luck!!!

Appreciate all you for figuring this out! When I first purchased the Tundra I was pretty disappointed in the HVAC. I blast the AC almost constantly so I had to really dial up the output. Airflow is night and day now. Such an easy upgrade too
