I got them from mvpautosupplies.com back in March of 2024. It doesn’t look like they offer that style any more but there are plenty of vendors on the internet that have lots to choose from. They’re plug and play and take about 30 seconds to install.

I don't want the truck to do anything I don't tell it to do. I didn't tell it to turn off. I also don't want to increase my starter use by three, five or more times for what I see as no benefit. I am fairly easy on the brakes but still activate the auto stop a few times per trip, city driving often corner to corner.

It has something to do with when you take your seatbelt off relative to when you shift into park. It's really annoying. I didn't want it trying and change my habits to stop it.

Got rid of the dark chrome and put on my color matched mustache from www.ecoological.com. Very pleased with color match and fitment. Before and after pics attached…

I don’t disagree at all. The system is not very intrusive. My only reservation is what happens in the engine with each start cycle. Bearings with zero oil pressure. This happening every time you bring it to a stop? I think it’s better for the engine to keep it running. The only reason for the system is fuel economy. It doesn’t increase the longevity of the engine.

Until I back into my garage or park the truck somewhere and it shuts off then immediately starts back up just in time for me to shut it off again. Sometimes shutting it off just as the high speed starter tried to re start the truck. What an absolutely awful concept this start stop nonsense.

Yeah I have noticed this happening on my truck as well. Is this because I'm pushing the brake harder when parking and activating the auto start/stop? Typically I don't notice the auto start/stop when driving as I'm light on the brakes but I find it very annoying when it occurs during parking.

Typically mine would shut off when shifting into park and then immediately re-start. I recently took a long trip (20+ hours of driving) and after several hours of driving the truck shut off in Park and stayed off (for several seconds) while the A/C was still running. I think this is how it's supposed to work and if it did this every time it wouldn't be an issue. Most of the time I'm taking short trips and I suppose the battery doesn't have time to get fully charged. In the normal case the truck shuts off in Park and then realizes the battery is too low to keep the A/C running so it immediately re-starts.

I recently installed one of those auto disable button pushers and it works flawlessly. You can still turn the feature back on if you like by pushing the button. I'm happy to realize that I've just reduced the number of engine start cycles by at least 50%.

I think the electric parking brake travels the pedal far enough down to activate.

Engine manufacturers had to revisit bearing materials when start/stop surfaced. The new head of the EPA has called it "a climate participation trophy." I think it's a crock.

...so do you want your truck to auto-brake it when you mistakenly failed to do so on time hmmm?

No, I don't want it to autobrake, I don't want it to slow down while I have the cruise control set because the car in front of me is going slower, I don't want it to keep me in my lane, I don't want it to increase brake pressure drastically because it thinks I am in a panic stop situation, I don't want it to give me less throttle because I spun a tire and when I put it in manual shift mode I want my input to be more than a suggestion. This truck specifically, I would like it not to have the scary throtte lag, not turbo lag but intermittent failure to react to pedal input. I'm sure I missed some things but that's a good start.

On a good note, after leveling the front of my truck, I didn't like the angles of the upper ball joints, so I fixed it today. Just need to get alignment adjusted. The new UCA's are same length as the steel ones, but the angle of ball joint is slightly different. It was an easy upgrade, 30 min. Drivers side, 20 min pass. Where did you get the TRD arms and what did they cost if you don't mind my asking.

ToyotaPartsdeal.com. $640 shipped. I found a few places that parts were cheaper, but shipping was way higher.

You planning to do the red CV's with the lift? I was surprised to see that my 25 ltd with the TRD offroad package already included the red cv axles. Now I feel obligated to lift it.
