There's people representing Banks here and this hasn't been addressed?

They tried and released a v2.0, but the fit is still not good enough for me.

Well let’s hope with the new CarPlay they go to a CarPlay app. Then we won’t need to worry about fit and finish.
I was looking at another tuner that does have a CarPlay app. Gonna do more research though. Hoping banks does go that rate.

What tuner for inquiring minds? That would be sweet to have all the guages when towing on the screen instead of a scan guage or pod. Coming from the diesel world always had a 3-4 pod with egt, boost, trans and oil temp, then a scan guage on the wheel.

I want something more modern and streamlined.

If you have the digital dash, you can add the tow gauges on right hand side, includes trans and oil temp

I doubt they will being they just built the iDash Pro as an upgrade, I agree a carplay app would be much better and cheaper, but I think it's a lot harder to implement if Toyota doesn't want to cooperate.

Honestly Toyota would have nothing to do with banks creating an Apple CarPlay app

I checked on the upgrade cost posted in this thread, they're offering a 50% discount, I asked if there's any new parameters added for 3rd Gen tundras, the answer was no. I currently have the iDash Super Gauge and can only display trans oil temp for transmission category, that's really disappointing, so this upgrade does nothing for me other than adding bluetooth support for updates/config.

I'm checking into using an elm327 scanner with an android app to see if I can get the transmission gear and other parameters I want.

Jay from Banks here. Let's get you into a new iDash Pro. The update is more than just Bluetooth and a sharper LCD screen. For Tundra, we've added the PIDs below.
    • Trans Gear (not just PNDR, but 1-6)
    • Trans Temp
    • Oil Pressure
    • Oil Temp
    • TC status
We are not able to add these PIDs to the iDash SuperGauge or iDash DataMonster because its memory is full. We tried. It won't accept more data. So, the Pro was necessary.

@223Wylde @matth66 Regarding CarPlay, we've discussed and probably will not pursue it because most enthusiasts prefer a dedicated gauge that's always on and ready without having to fiddle with the center stack. Like your speedometer, iDash is always on and displaying data. Plus, with CarPlay, we're limited to the whims and regulations of Apple. They dictate what actions the driver can and cannot take while the vehicle is in motion.

Are you sure this is for the 3rd Gens? 2022+? because they have 10-speed transmissions.

When will there be a firmware update that address the engine oil temp and trans temp reading the same?

Yeah Jay I think you are getting 2nd gens confused with 3rd gents. My 3rd gen with iDashPro and the latest firmware still does not show what exact gear I am in. Just shows 'D'.

Yep, see his post from earlier I just found. That update doesn't apply to 3rd gens.

I think so too, when I talked to Banks tech support yesterday, they stated no new parameters added for 3rd Gen Tundras with iDash Pro. Not only that, but they list different parameters for different trim levels here:

What is the carrot to upgrade if oil pressure and the few other pids are not added? I can see current screen fine.

I upgraded to the iDash Pro because it was said it would have more parameters and now they are saying it won't?

    Neat. . . . .

And this is why we will never see a CarPlay app. They need to sell their idash’s.

I’m interested but I want to see more response from @ToyFan here. I’m not confident what an iDash Pro is able to display for a ‘23 Lim gas looking here or on their website. Did the A-pillar pod mount ever get to its final perfected version?

Is the third time a charm?

@ToyFan - The PedalMonster doesn't seem to be available for the MY22+ Tundra/Tundra HV or the MY23+ Sequoia HV any longer. Does this still hold true? Any particular reason for this? Or are you just going to ignore the question?

Ordered my iDash Data Pro & Stealth Pod last Tuesday morning 6/10, and it was at my doorstep Thursday 6/12 when I got home from work. I was able to find some time on Saturday to get it installed and set it up.

Installation was stupid simple. Overall, I think it took less than 30 minutes. I drilled out the hole a little larger than required with the bit provided in case I add another gauge and mount later.

    upload_2025-6-17_8-33-44.png

I decided against doing any painting of the Stealth Pod for the time being. I’m totally fine with the way it looks now. If it bothers me enough in the future, removing & reinstalling the Pod will be easy. I don’t want to worry about paint chipping or fading, then having to go back and do any touch-ups.

    upload_2025-6-17_8-38-25.png

As far as fitment of the Pod, overall I think it is a pretty good fit. A couple posts on here mentioned the fitment on the door-facing side of the grab handle being off and as you can see, mine is about the same. I thought improper drilling of the hole could be the cause, but I believe that is just how it fits. Personally, it is not enough to bother me, as I don't even notice it while sitting behind the wheel. I also think leaving the Pod black in lieu of painting it reduces visibility of any gaps, because the gap/shadow blends with the Pod.

    upload_2025-6-17_8-37-41.png

On the top/windshield-facing side of the Pod, there is a small flap on the Pod that somewhat extends over the handle where the Pod fits in place. I think if Banks were to incorporate this idea, extending all the way around the pod, it would cover any of the meeting points of the Pod & handle nicely.

    upload_2025-6-17_8-36-29.png

    upload_2025-6-17_8-37-6.png

I purchased this so that I could monitor my transmission temperature, but I've come to find out that the iDash doesn't display them. That is my fault because I definitely assumed the device would display data like that, and I didn't ask enough questions or research far enough. I reached out to Banks to see if there are any products on the website that could help add it to the display, but haven't heard back yet.

Edit: User error for the transmission temperature (posts below)

Overall, I'm 100% satisfied with the overall purchase.

If you want more pics or have any questions, I'll be following this thread.

    Edit: Removed a double-pic

@LowcountryDave Jay from Banks here. According to both our firmware engineer who worked on the 2022-2025 Tundra, Trans Fluid Temp is indeed displayed on the iDash (See below). Can you confirm your on the latest firmware? The current firmware version is 1.06. You will update using your mobile app or SD card and the file found here. If you are on v1.06 and cannot see Trans Fluid Temp, let me know.

Regarding the fitment of the iDash Stealth Pod, I've overseen the development of 18 pods so far and none were as difficult as the Tundra. It was very hard to get it to overlap and also fit within the footprint of the factory A-pillar bolt cover. You'll notice some of our pod sits inside the pocket and some sits above the pocket. This is so we could cover the cable access hole. We are as particular as you when it comes to fit and finish and the lip in your photos bugs us. But there was no way around it.

Hey Jay - I updated the firmware before I set up any of the display:

    upload_2025-6-17_11-57-5.png

    upload_2025-6-17_11-59-32.png

    upload_2025-6-17_12-0-17.png

I've got the display set to eight, maybe it requires a different configuration?

And as far as fitment goes - I have zero issues with the way it sits.

I had to go in and select Tundra from the vehicle options for it to display trans temp.

@LowcountryDave First, please ensure that you have selected Tundra from the Vehicle Selection Menu in the mobile app. Without the proper vehicle selection, many vehicle-specific PIDs will not display.

The number of gauges per page should not matter. However, You can set the iDash Pro to display 2-8 gauge per page. Using the mobile app, you can re-order PIDs on the page. So, you can drag Trans Gear to the first position, second, third, wherever you want. Please see video 11 "Setting Up A Custom Layout" in this playlist of iDash tutorials.
