I'd love to but think it might just blow up my motor at sea level... and really don't want to overhaul my fueling that currently works great for 76 at sea level

 

@e30cabrio I just saw on some corvette/Ford forums with the Eaton Teflon coating peeling off. I believe @nobodyintexas runs paper as he's in a super dusty environment. It's been awhile but some older testing showed paper filtered best.

 

Standard Wix paper filter ...with that foam pre-filter thing that comes on the filter.

I run the afe dry but if I lived in sandy/dusty areas I'd stick with paper. @e30cabrio I bought my afe's off a guy down south as they weren't filtering as well. I just searched and there are too many comparisons. Aftermarket does help with increased flow but there are trade offs. I have a wix installed now as I cleaned my afe and never swapped it out and haven't noticed the loss in airflow.

 

Paper is the way! Wix does a great job!

 

When I had my intercooler out a few years ago my rotors had a bit of wear. I'm not concerned and with time some rotor coatings do wear off.

 

@Wynnded was, and is now running the 65mm. I was just talking to him about it the other day, at 6300ft he was seeing 9.3psi with the 65mm. I would do that in a heartbeat if I had the 2650. In Denver that should be around 10-11psi which I think is the sweet spot of "normal" size injectors, fuel pump, and what the engine can handle.

My 1900 running effectively the equivalent of the 65mm at 5500ft usually only sees 7psi

 

The starter comes tomorrow, I found a mobile mechanic that will do it for 800 vs Firestone at 830, debating on where to get it done, leaning towards Firestone as at least there is some level of redress if there are issues.

I wish it wasn't so damn hot but I just can't deal with 5+ hours out there in 100-115 degree heat.

Once it is running (assuming no collateral damage) I'll deal with the filter & get a Wix, I generally always use their oil filters.

 

Anything over 75°F is nuclear heat! J!

 

That is odd, I would find a local radiator repair business to clean it out and pressure test while they have it.

 

Normally I would avoid Firestone like the plague, I had a bad experience, but good to have recourse if any issues. Does the mobile tech provide any type of warranty?

 

I will take it to the shop I have been using for welding/radiator repair. I wanted to take the BMW there, AC is not cold.

The mobile is from a site mobilemechanic.com, they claim to have recourse, not too sure how good it is.

 

I agree, avoiding all national chains, unfortunately, the closest Toyota specialist is over 30 miles away & generally fully booked, this is literally walking distance, pre 1000 degrees, I have taken the dog, dropped a car for alignment & walked home/back.

 

Update:

Just got my truck back! So 35 hours from wrong gas to back at home with truck. Not bad

Got a Chrysler Pacifica as my rental. Pretty nice cruiser on the highway, reminded me of my two grand cherokees I had (2014 that flooded and totaled and 2015)

$938 from dealership to drop tank, drain, and give me 10 gallons of 93 gas

$30 to refuel rental

$117 for me to fill up the truck after dealership

$1,085 plus the tow, the rental cost, and refunded gas I guess $1,500 total mistake for Wawa.

Just dropped off my receipts with the manager there. They said I’ll get paid tomorrow. Wondering if I’ll get a gift card or something for the inconvenience and wasting half a day dealing with it.

I still won’t use an octane booster if it ever happens again. Magnuson still says it’s a no go when I talked to them today. Not worth the risk to me. I wish NJ would allow us to pump our own gas.

Oh well onto stage 2 with national speed. Should know install date by next week.

Your call but there nothing wrong with it. I’ll run octane booster before I drop over a $1000 for all that.

 

That's fair and if I was in the north east or out west on vacation/snowboarding/or whatever and I made an error pumping gas/couldn't find 91+ I probably would run octane booster too to be honest, but with Wawa making the error and them paying for it, it wasn't worth it to me.

 

Starter came early, went to the dealer & picked it up, came home to the O rings delivered, where does the Vitron Fluroelastomer 0-Ring cord go? Nothing like that came out. Wherever it goes I assume I cut it to size?

65mm? Jesus lol. Only thing slowing me down is the stock flex fuel pump although injector duty cycle is great on a 76mmm. Really need to delete the extra lin3s for flex and go directly to the rail with a bigger pump I'm thinking, although VictorG's video shows good flow.....I'm al little worried haha

 

Yea the 65mm would most definitely require 650 or 750 injectors (if you aren't running those already), and I suspect the flex fuel pump can't keep up with those so would need to be upgraded to get the full potential out of those injectors. Over 10psi is a lot of horse torques!

 

As you noticed, the "rope" o ring needs to be on the supercharger housing, cut to length and a dab of RTV at the ends to seal up any gap.

 

Have those hacked up prospeed 750s, but figure FP and line delete. Honestly I don't have the balls to run 65mm atm lol. See 8lbs on the 76mm but I'm lower.

 

I removed the bevel on the stock fuel rail ends, 6an supply return 450 walbro model 267(fits perfect in flex fuel canister with no mods) hardwired to battery power with trigger on from fuel module to retain shutoff safety and 750cc injectors. No fuel starvation at 60psi. Then you got @armyoffoo setup with dual 450 pumps!

 

Thanks @Mdl! I gotta get to doing something about the stock FF pump sooner then later. Dual 450 is out of my league lol

 

Same here. Several national parks we have visited only have 87. So I fill the min needed and just keep the pedal light. Burn the tank all the way out and refill with 91-93. No issues so far.

 

Is boostane the one to get or are they all the same? Noone local has that one

 

Boostane, VP, or Torco are the ones capable of raising the octane actual whole points I believe. Some cheaper products don’t really do much for raising the octane.

 

Interchiller update:

Things to Note:
This is with cabin AC still in the loop, I haven't wired up the solenoid to block cabin EVAP and dedicate the AC system to the Interchiller.
This is after dropping my daughter off at summer camp, so a casual drive there, ~15 minutes idling, and a fun drive back home at a faster pace.
I still have a hot air intake, as the intake tube and filter are open to engine bay heat and not closed off
IAT sensor is post supercharger intercooler bricks
Ambient temp is 80* F
Normally, with the heat exchanger, this would be at least +25* F over ambient temp
At startup, I see the IAT 6-8* BELOW the ambient temp

 

Sequoia was towed to Firestone last night, I had anxiety with the mobile deal. Now I get to worry all day that there are other issues, I have a slew of weird codes I never had before, hoping from coolant in the intake/not starting on last crank.

Evap has been there for years, the MAF failed and was replaced (I sent the failed MAF to TurboKits for diagnosis) I have never seen the air crap & the entire system is from the 70k donor motor/I had never had any of those codes before.
