Great looking truck! Giving me some good ideas for my own changes this summer

 

Power steering flush
Tools and supplies
Toyota Transmission and PS fluid/ 2 qts
Hose pliers
Vacuum pump with fittings
Plenty of paper towels or rags
Air compressor to run pump

 

Replaced oil filler cap with a nice looking billet aluminum off eBay

 

LOVE your build thread you got going! Some great ideas. You have a part number for that blower motor?

And how's that head unit working out? I've been on the fence about getting one myself.

Oil change on Saturday and changed some hardware on the rear of my skid plate

 

Morimoto 3rd brake light installed and it was a PITA

 

Radiator Cap replaced at 109k miles

My 2020 didn't have a remote start so this is the one I chose and I'm very happy with it and the app.I'm not sure how it stacks up to a OEM remote

 

How about the rear-sway bar?

 

Ordered mine off Amazon for about half the price from Toyota.It stiffens the ride into a curve so you don't feel like you're rolling. I will be towing a tractor at times and it helps with stability.

 

Don't forget a pedal commander or banks pedal monster.

Yes, I have an actual value for the increase in driving control and ease.

It's almost 5x easier to use the throttle, it makes it a joy to drive. The 5.7 does have excellent throttle control when this mod is done. Stock throttle is garbage.

The lazy throttle is a REAL THING. I had an 07 5.7 tundra from new, and that thing had the most sharp throttle ever. Stock it was like that. My 2019 felt so dead compared to my 2007. Someone suggested the pedal commander, I found a setting that is exactly like my 2007. I just set that one setting, and never mess with the pedal commander.

I now have the same throttle that my 2007 had. I only have to use 5-10% throttle to putt around. Before it was like 35% throttle just to get rolling from a stop.

It felt LAZY LAZY LAZY before. Now it feels like it's being held back from going too fast.

I've said this before... in 2007 toyota gave it that sharp throttle to make the tundra seem powerful. Over the years they dialed it back to gain 1/2 mpg.

The lazy throttle feels so bad, if you know what it could feel like.

 

Very nice truck! I'm wanting to do the rear seat storage, just haven't yet.

 

I found mine on Amazon for about $20 less and it was the same brand...ESP
Also when you do install cut out the carpet and foam insulation a hair smaller than the layout for a tight fit

The install wasn't too bad for an old man with big hands....lol
I think there is a thread on this forum exclusively on the Dasaita G13 plus a couple of YouTube videos.I will say this go ahead and get the 256MB model,a digits only SIM from T-Mobile, Enfig mic , Dasaita adapter for the mic and leave one of the 2 USB adapters accessable for use.I have removed the HU several times to add these items when I should have done it from the beginning. Hind sight is 20/20 as they say.

Had to remove the head unit again for the bullet point install.You have to drill 4 small mounting holes and a larger hole for the USB wire to pass thru the dash down to a 12v connection that will have to be tapped for power.I also used some fender washers on the underside for stability.I have a magsafe phone holder and my camera mounted with no problem .Since the install I ordered a rubber mat that I cutout to go around the rest of that area that the mount leaves uncovered.I didn't like that look

The boot. I wanna know more. I picked up a decent black PU with Toyota red stitched 2 years ago and never did anything with it. I know my gears, I know where I'm shifting. But how the heck do I make this look pretty like yours?

Also, I'm interested in a few of your mods. Trans oil cooler, throttle body bypass, and upgraded blower motor. What are the real world advantages of each? I work from home now and use the truck for kid transpo and visits to the landscape store, home depot, lowes, ace, the dealership, certafit, etc. I don't do trips > 20 miles. We use the minivan for anything long range or cross town.

Edit: the part numbers listed no longer work. I had Mike at Hendrick Toyota of Apex order the a frame and it ended up being the standard no grab handle factory (USA). Toyota changed the part but kept the original grab handle part number. Try it but buyer beware, YMMV.
