I have a set of 535cc which is standard for basic SC. If you want more head room for more psi others have said they have 650cc's available.

I guess if I paid attention to your jumper wire post that I actually looked at the fuel psi gauge earlier...

Is the wholesale transmissions valve body as aggressive as the IPT in the 1-2 shift?

From those that installed the WAT extreme its said that it's not harsh. WAT says it can be but wasn't experienced. IPT and Level10 can have harsh shifts but not for everyone. My IPT does not shift hard from 1-2.

I suppose I could ask them to do this when I order the unit, but from responses below, it seems like not all of them have a harsh 1-2 shift. I actualy don't have complaints about the shiting on my truck, other than the RPM's at which it currently shifts in specific gears. I'm only looking at valve bodies for long term relaibility of my trans.

Found an interview from IPT from a couple years back and noticed he also said that he recommends 24K drain and fills on these transmissions for improving life. Are you guys doing the same?

The shift points can be easily adjusted electronically via a tune.

As for D&F interval, I’ve done 30k intervals since new and had the fluid tested around 190 or 200k miles (lots of towing and hauling in there). Fluid integrity was very good but it was a bit dirtier than expected - meaning I could have used a slightly shorter interval. So 24k miles would be very reasonable. I opted for a few extra D&F’s to clean up the fluid. I can’t imagine how filthy the fluid would be having never been changed. Our sequoia was absolutely horrid at less than 100k when we bought it. Still shifted ok, but shifter better even after a single d&f.

Edit - I should also note that the sequoia lacks a transmission cooler just like your 21, and that fluid is cookin! We saw 241* on a trip to socal last year on the freeway with out a trailer or rocket box. It was very dark and stunk, but luckily didn’t smell burnt.

Yeah, I'm also looking at trans cooler kits, even though I do not ever tow with this truck. Looks like the Genuine Cooling Systems kit is compatible with Magnuson kitk, but they also say to contact them about fitment.

As for shit point adjustments through tune, it seems that my current tuner doesn't seem to be capable to doing this on my sutom tune as I have been complaining about this for 3 revisions and nothing with my shit points seem to change unless he just reverts to stock shifting so I am talking to other tuners to start this process over again...

It's probably overkill but I do it biennial. Although I did it twice this year to try different dex3 and AISIN atf.

I tow a lot so I do it annually, along with diff fluid change, it's definitely an overkill but it puts my ocd at ease.

I'm not SC'd... but my '08 received a single D&Fs every 30k, and my '21 will receive the same. I'm just hitting 25k on my '21 right now, and will be doing a D&F and intalling the trans cooler at 30k

Let me ask you this, do you think I'd go through all this if there was any doubt in my mind it wouldn't work? When you try to do something there's a lack of confidence in knowing your result. I know that you seen the Tundraswat guys already doing 4l80 swaps and even Prospeed has already done one with the 1k whp turbo build. So let's have a little faith here and get over the fact that I'm fully committed to going 4l80 and not just trying, regardless of whether the trucks running or not. Remember words have meaning.

LOL don't get butt hurt just giving you hard time. I'm fully aware of the running 4L80s out there and the other viable trans options. I've got no doubt it'll all come together.

No, all the butt hurt! Lol, but for real it did rub my the wrong way and it's not your fault, I'm just over here without a truck I haven't been able to enjoy for a long ass time and that shit gets annoying. There's always a cause and effect with everything. All is well, carry on with the plan of the day!

I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to explain to my wife that, after 5 months and counting of waiting for an engine, that we will only have to wait a month or two for the transmission. I'm looking forward to keeping the peace and installing a gold 4l80 out of respect for you both. :)

Always wanted to build a 5.7 from the ground up.
Mainly to beef up the innards so I could up the boost from the Magnuson.
Now that I'm retired I'm seriously considering getting started on it.
Sitting on the back porch perusing the internet gets a bit old after awhile.

That's a good idea. I was pretty surprised to see it hit that high on the sequoia, if it was 110* outside. Even with the SC, my tundra stays below 212 even when towing, with a very rare bump to 218 or 220 that settles immediately when I select a gear. So that cooler makes a big difference, combined with lockup tuning in 4th makes a HUGE difference. Immediately after SC install/tune, I saw 230 ONCE, but the transmission was acting weird. A reflash fixed it and I never had an issue again.

L10 set my D&F at 20k intervals. I'll be following that. 8k on the new trans and zero issues heavy towing. temps stay around 200 in the pan with tc fluctuating but never getting too high on steep grade

Who is still waiting for their WAT valve bodies from the group buy? I'm working with Johnny and he was under impression all orders were satisfied. Please respond only if you have NOT received yours yet. Thx!
