    Hey Guys,
I opened the wheel this morning as a gift to myself. I don't see any sort of spring in the box. @RainMan_PNW do you have a photo of what things should look like? I've never messed with a wheel before and not sure what it even should include.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas.

see picture #3 in the first post, it is wrapped in bubble wrap in the center of the steering wheel, you cannot miss it, if you did not get that maybe you did not order the heated version, or there was a picking error at the warehouse.

Been a bit busy - they did reply and sent a link to this video, which is basically instructions for centering the clock spring.

I'm hoping to get mine installed here a little later this morning finally.

Man, you've been lucky that it didn't deploy right in your face. Never do this, never. Any time you mess with airbag please do disconnect the battery and wait for good 10-15 minutes for all capacitors to die out.

Any idea if this fits Gen 2? The only thing wife misses in her Sequoia is a heated steering wheel.

The steering wheel controls are 1 to 1 like in my 2019 Tundra. I guess, it may work? See no reason for Toyota using another kind of connector or different pinout.

I would recommend you hit the EWD thread in my signature, grab the different wiring diagrams, and compare the pin-outs and connector shapes.

I will tell you for starters that the shape of the wheel and the airbag is completely different between Gen 2 and Gen 2.5.

Oh! Asking about a Gen 2 Sequoia. Did not get that at all

Ignore my above post. Definitely looks like its the same wheel that the 2.5 gen Tundra uses but you would still want to check the wiring diagram for the pin map yo verify their harness is set up the same.

Thank you! I do have the spring then. Like I said, never done this and I was looking for a literal metal spring. :monocle:

Gotcha - missed the Sequioa part.
Then I'd recommend comparing the EWD for the particular year of Sequoia to the Tundra just to be sure. There's a surprising number of differences actually.

Got mine installed today, I used the spot where the auto high beams are for the heated switch. I never use that button so made sense for me. IMG_0425.jpg IMG_0421.jpg

Got my steering wheel kit today. Opened the box and my clock spring clip was not attached. I watched the video and got it centered. I used some tape and the clip so it wont move. Hopefully when it warms up again I can get it installed.

So I got mine installed yesterday. Wheel is great, and very happy with it. The issue is, now all my electronics sensors are screaming. Basically every single sensor is saying its not working or needing to be calibrated. Has this happened to any of you? I have an appointment early next week to try to get everything reset from someone with the right scan tool programing, but just trying to get an idea of where things went wrong.

fingers crossed :fingerscrossed: From what I understand, it can be recalibrated, but I hadn't seen anyone else with this issue on here so I am just trying to get an idea if anyone ran into this.

All your steering controls work correct? I’m guessing if they do then it’s probably the steering/angle sensor that’s throwing all the codes.

That's what the guy who put it in said, he didn't have the option to calibrate it on his scan tool, he mostly does Ford stuff, so I am guessing he didn't have the most up to date toyota stuff. He said it was probably related to the clock spring, I just don't have good enough understanding of the issue to use all the correct lingo and words. The shop I take it to for normal service, said they can handle it.

The wheel is a huge upgrade imo, so worth the little bit of hassle if that's all it is.

I will say I was extremely careful with the removal and installation of all components being especially mindful of the electronics while installing my steering wheel. I didn’t experience this issue and no problems since. The heated steering wheel has been a worthwhile upgrade.

I wish I could help more.

I might have even shook it around before hand looking at things. I honestly don't know. Sounds like I am the only one who experienced this though, so I'll make sure to update what they do to get it all fixed. Might be helpful to someone in the future.
