Looking for advice in which kit to get. Don't do that much off road just couple days a month, but for deer hunting season its every weekend.

Either one is a great choice. But I'd recommend the Bilstein kit, Wheelers Offroad progressive add a leaf, wheelers super bumps, wheelers extended stainless steel brake lines, and extended brake proportion valve bracket.

DO NOT get that kit if you have access cab or regular cab. Which you do, if you’re 2002. I can link up why if you need to see it. ESPECIALLY do not buy if you’re 2WD!!! It will waaaaaaaay over-lift your truck and fuck your shit up.

Did you read the “Suspension wheels and tires…” section of this thread yet?: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Did you mean the OME kit?
I'm guessing the springs are too stiff. I don't know all their spring codes, so I didn't even think to check

Yup. OME kits are rated based on lift you’ll get with a double cab or sequoia. This was the last access cab person who installed, and this guy was 4WD, so several hundred pounds heavier up front: https://www.tundras.com/threads/ome-3-1-kit-goes-full-extension-with-a-bang-too-fast-why.109151/

It’d be murder on a 2WD access cab V8. Or even worse yet if V6. That dude paid all that money on that kit only to hafta then yank it out and install something else.

I just know OME has several different spring rates and lengths available, but who knows which ones that kit is providing, since it didn't say the code or even a description. I'm still convinced with the correct spring the OME would be great. I've ridden in some second gen tacos off-roading with OME and they were smooth AF.

I've heard nothing good about their shocks on our cab type, other than "stiff" and "rebound too fast". I have seen a couple of double cab drivers seemingly happy. But then again, I've also seen a couple of double cab owners say 5100s were the worst ride they'd ever felt. For that reason, I tend to ignore the minority/outliers with highly differing feedback.
