Pro Grille no more?

I was recently in a front end collision(not my fault) my body shop is trying to source a pro grille to replace the one I had added to my 17. Spoken to several Toyota dealerships, including the usual suspects, and Toyota is only selling the grille if you have a matching vin# to a pro, and they are supposedly infinitely back ordered.

Anyone have any leads?

I'm sure there are some on ebay. New "old" parts seem to not be a priority for being shipped to the states at the moment. But if you are wanting it via an authorized Toyota seller, you may be out of luck....

 

14-17 grille. No sensors on my truck. Trying to assist the body shop in sourcing one. Trying to find a OEM one, but we might have to settle for aftermarket

Roman hasn’t been seen since 2022, and I know his dealership has stopped selling the way they used to. I went to the linked site, but it’s fishy as hell, no contact #, no location info.

I’ve looked into Sparksparts as well, same story, not available.

whenever I contact a dealership that has them online, but get the same story, no stock, need a pro vin.

like I said, this is an insurance claim and the body shop is doing the purchasing. They are getting the same story.

I’m aware that Roman is no longer active. I only sent that for the part numbers.

Also, that’s very odd. I purchased a black one several months ago from my local dealership with no issues. Maybe inventory has diminished!

 

Not sure about the VIN # thing, but the issue is the color you want.
There seems to be other colors availabe.
If the shop is already doing paint work have them paint the new grille surround.

Colors not an issue, we’ve asked about any pro grill with the intent to paint if needed. We are calling the dealerships direct. The body shop is doing the purchasing, I’m just trying to help with a source

Go to filters, set years and trim to PRO. Pick any VIN you want and give it to the dealer. It might work.

The issue is that the supplier for these moved on from being a supplier for Toyota. There are around 200 parts that are on indefinite backorder as Toyota tries to find a supplier to take their place.

Most of the grilles included in this interruption should be coming off of backorder as April 2025 was the target for the supply chain to get caught up.

T-PANT-2024-003-D is the notice number for dealers.

 

The dealership I ordered through recently said they were on national backorder with 147 orders ahead of me. (Even though their online parts store said in stock) They confirmed that some dealerships are requiring a pro VIN, but not all. They let my order go through but there’s no telling if it ever comes in. Another dealer parts guy said they would be available in batches and he did not think it would take that long. Maybe by end of summer, but who knows. Fingers crossed I guess. I’ve only been thinking about it for 8 years and picked the wrong time to pull the trigger.

I've been trying to get a Pro grill through a dealership online parts store for 5 months. No dice. Backordered without ETA. Luckily for me, my current grille is intact, but that's rough for folks in the OP's position.

 

Lots of those dealerships will show that they offer the part online because it is a valid part number, but once you place an order, you will get a backorder notice. It has happened to me to several times with several different dealerships.

 

Where are you located OP? There's always these grilled located around me in So Cal. Found 2 of them. All you really need is the insert. It's what I ended up doing.

 

I’m in MA, I think because this is an insurance claim, the body shop is looking to avoid eBay/craigslist

 

I ordered one in white from fred anderson toyota when they did a 25% off/free shipping sale last year around September i think. Told me its back ordered and i might see it next September. Offered a refund, said id wait as it was a great price. ‍

 

Bought mine from Fred Anderson Toyota just a month ago in MGM

 

Just talked to my body shop, he was able to get one in red he will paint to match

So hard to believe that these are sold out nationwide. Glad you got it figured out. I was going to suggest selling this and buying a TRD Pro

 

The issue was not getting it in the right color, it was finding a pro grille in any color at all from a true parts dealer. Insurance claims are funny that way.

 

Glad that your shop actually kept up with it and found what you needed. Hard to find customer service these days and this story is a fine example of why humanity is not totally dead.
