I have an 06 tundra and I am stuck with the hood latch mechanism not releasing. I have tried to drill out the pilot hole on the mechanisms just to have the spring release and to have the whole bottom section of the locking mechanism fell out after the tension of the spring came off. Is there any input anyone could tell me to help me get the 3 bolts of the hood latch mechanism out so I can get the hood open and replace the latch. Can I take the bumper and grill off to access this and fix my issue Thank-you

    See this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/2001-tundra-grill-hood-latch-doesnt-work.118361/

You need to grab this bar thru the grille (blue circle) and pull down on it. OR if that bar is detached from where the red circle is, you need to grab that red circle and pull down. A lot of times the plastic clip that holds the rod into the red circle hole, it snaps. The part is cheap.
