I need some help with replacing the door weatherstripping. The black coating is bad.
I don't know how to remove them and could use some help with part numbers for both doors, both sides.
Just hoping someone already did this.
    Thanks!

I did see something pretty cool on the facebooks. Someone used vinyl wrap that was carbon fiber patterened. It actually turned out really nice.

But in looking at what comes off of them when they crack and peel, it almost looks like Toyota wrapped them from the factory. I know they didn't, but the paint peels off so nice, it's almost like they did.

I see some people get an aftermarket set. I may take a look at that.
I did find the OEM part numbers with help from one of the other posts.

#2 reply in that thread I linked will point you to the company making the near-OEM repops.

I pulled mine off and used a magic eraser on a drill to take the black wrap off. They are stainless and shine really nice when polished. I kept mine polished to give off a little shiny accent to match my badging on the back of the door. Its just a hint of shine and compliments the lines of the trucks. This is just my opinion but i cleaned it off cause the OEM wrap was peeling up and planned to paint or re-wrap it but afterwards mounted them back on and said
    "dang this looks pretty good"
And its been shiny ever since. Here are probably the only two real good side shots that show the reflection. Its just a touch of shine that helps compliment the chrome badging on the door.

As long as the seal that's up against the glass isn't cracking / breaking I wouldn't replace the weather strip assemblies. I replaced them on my truck and went with OEM, it was not cheap.

I believe the OEM is going to be discontinued soon, if not already disco'd for the earlier years.

I bought a pair for my '06 a couple years back during a 25% off sale. I got out the door without spending a fortune, and I've got them sitting in the sealed tube they came in, still sealed, to hopefully ensure they don't dry-rot until I end up installing.

I'd really love to re-do all the rubber seals and rubber tracks in my doors, but the price Toyota puts on the damn parts is exorbitant. I'd spend $500-600 per door to replace everything. I know there's some items you can buy aftermarket that are almost identical (for the cab-to-door seals for example), but ... I really want to specifically redo the window channel seals, from the bottom of each side channel, all the way up around the window, so I can stop my window from rattling when it's only partially open.

I bought mine from Rock auto. They had a set that was more affordable and fit great. We'll see how long they hold up.
