Did you buy a digits only SIM from a T-Mobile store because that's the one you need.A SIM from Walmart won't work.Next make sure the SIM is inserted all the way in the card reader.It will be flush with the card reader.

 

Yes - the previous setup had the switch mounted in the dash under the stock radio. When i installed the G13, i removed the supplied harness and connected th RCA directly to th G13.

There is an icon on the screen, you may have to swipe left to see it. You can modify the left hand ribbon where the android auto and the GPS compass icons are and add the front camera icon
there for fast selection. I Think if you tap & hold in that area, it lets you modify the contents.

 

My favorite thing is in the admin menu where it can auto switch from Rear to front camera when going from reverse to drive. I use that feature often when parking.

 

I saw that setting but didnt activate it. I manually switch mine when pulling into the garage or when there is a pole in front that i dont want to hit.

When auto switches to the front, does the front stay on all the time?

 

No you do it for a selected time. I set mine up for 6 seconds. Once the 6 seconds are up goes back to car play.

 

Yes I walked into the TMobil store and asked for that specific sim for $10.00 a month.I was wondering if you need to do something in setting to let the head unit know the SIM card is in.

 

After you install it go to the app screens on the G13 and start using.Download any apps you want to use but some are preloaded

 

Tech Q. I have the dasaita installed and I'm trying to hook up an Amp/subs. Could anyone explain to me why I can't get signal thru the rca's (green sub output on harness) to the Amp?
Couldn't find anything in the factory menu, grok3 was no help...

 

You will most likely need to run a remote wire to "Turn-On" the amp.

Are you using the the factory amp bypass harness?

I wasn't bypassing the factory harness. I was hoping to just plug in the Amp to the sub rca out.
If I bypass, do I lose door speakers?
Incidentally, upgrading the door speakers is a future project

 

No - you will not lose doors
There is a ton of info on this site regarding the bypass harness.

Just poke around in there for info. Im sure others will also add their 2cents.

The amp you are using, is it a 5 channel or just for sub?
Maybe post some details about it so others can chime in who are more experienced than myself.

Im running a kenwood 5 channel and previoulsy had the LC7I Line Output Converter
running off the factory HU. Then i got the Dasaita and removed the LOC. Wiring upi the bypass harness is very simple and basically plugNplay.

 

Also - there might be a seperate remote "Turn-on" wire coming off the back of the Dasaita. I cant remember if there is or not. I would look for possibly a single wire
that is blue/white and maybe the end is capped or labeled amp or remote ????.

I'm just putting in a cheap skar 1200 Amp.

Those diagrams look identical to what I'm working with. I do need to hook up the "turn on" wire, (I was jumping it for the time being just to mock up and test prior to final button up)

Well, I bypassed the factory amp still not getting signal to the aftermarket amp.0 signal to the subs...
I'm wired into the sub out rca on the dasaita hu. Frustrated

 

Door speakers sound a lot better tho

 

are you sure the new amp is turning on? You need to hook the turn on wire from the HU to the amp

 

Nevermind, here's how dumb I am... make sure the speaker wires out of the Amp are connected.

 

Just installed this..2018 non jbl...intried both of the canbus box and seems like theyre both working...but which is the right one for my year? Rp2 or the Rp5.

 

I got a 2014 and installed the Dasaita G13 a couple weeks ago and everything works good but the only speakers working are the rear doors. It’s also a non JBL with amp and I got the bypass harness and tried it but all speakers work then with the harness but very low.

 

A couple questions I have after having my unit for about 3 months.

1. Can I order the t mobile SIM card online?

2. I primarily use the head unit for CarPlay, if I add the sim does it seamlessly transition from CarPlay to using the built in apps?

3. are you guys upgrading firmware with all the new version? They say not to unless we are having issues, but just curious what everyone does?

 

I went to the T-Mobile store for my sim card at $10 per mo.Yes you can swap back and forth from Android Auto to the apps on the head unit

 

I just ordered mine. Does this unit play video from a USB thumb drive?

And .. the screen is too reflective, has anyone found a screen protector that can help reduce glare?

It has 2 cables that plug into the rear of the head unit.One double USB and one single that you have to route back to the front of your dash to use

 

Okay I've installed it today. Question, how do you remove the backup lines?
