I saw a little bird flying in my grill one morning, actually the day after I did a TRD pro Grill, silver delete and BD light bar addition. Didn't think anything of it and when I was washing the truck this weekend I saw this:

    IMG_2163.jpg

Took a half hour with a cheap vac with a small hose and I got it out. To make matters worse, I looked in there this morning and the same nest is back less than 12 hours later. I was even parked in a completely different spot. Guess I'm on some little birdie radar. Maybe I'll put some sort of grating in there put I just hope this bird gets the hint.

Yes, it is a very common and well reported thing with TRD grill, either deal with it or go back to the original

Even before I did the pro grille swap I still managed to get a bird in the intercooler. No nest. Just the lil guy toasted to a crisp.

I have a different bird problem: robins crapping on my truck.
They target the side mirrors and the front of the bed cover.
I have to cover the mirrors with plastic groceries bags and bought a fake owl to protect the bed.

I struck a bird on my motorcycle once a number of years ago at a high rate of speed. It caved in my entire headlight assembly and was literally a bloody a mess. I still have those pics somewhere, but they might upset PETA.

By “deal with it” you’re referring to a BB gun or a cat, right?:D

Definitely want to see that. Possibly in the motorcycle thread as a warning to wear your full face helmets? Imagine what that bird would have done if you caught it in your grille. :boom:

Yikes! (Just looked at pics) Were those stiches on your hand a result of the bird strike also?

Stitches were from of a non-riding mishap that ultimately led to having to stop riding, at least commuting or long rides. I was going to go into that if I posted elsewhere.

It did for the bed cover problem.
But it alone did not stop the crapping on the mirrors.

Gotchya. I once lived at an airport, long story, the pilots used to put rubber snakes on the wings to keep birds from roosting there. Maybe try that for your mirrors.

The grilles on these vehicles look ridiculous. They literally can't protect shite.

Those plastic bags look great! That'll turn heads in the parking lots. Not the good kind.:rofl:red jays and mocking birds like to sit on the mirrors and bombard the reflection. They think it's their mate inside. Mine has "survivor blackout" mirrors installed, so any scratches aren't too visible. Chrome, or color matched mirrors though: :spending:eventually.

Oh, sorry. It's a.k.a. work truck package. (Black plastic). Very resilient to scratches.

Cardinals have to be the lowest-IQ of the birds. Those damn things will wait until you are right up on them and then decide to fly across the road right at front grille altitude. I've plucked many of them out over the years and many continue to be near misses.
