5.7 motor mounts

Obviously I would due to the driver side motor mount bolts shearing off.

 

MDL let’s have you run it since my truck won’t be driving for a bit. But if we we’re ok for the second one to be tested hardcore offroad I’m in lol or @Vizsla has his up and running also

 

Fitment is all I'm looking for right now. I'm not worried about it not holding up off road.

FWIW, I would prefer someone to install it that's directly on this board, someone that is pretty competent with installs & has good tools so I can get some 1st person feedback & discussion on here. A mechanic at XYZ shop isn't going to be able to directly communicate with me. They are notorious for telling their customer "the part doesn't fit" and then moving onto the next job which doesn't help me with any possible details.

EDIT: Preferably someone that, to their best knowledge has a "straight" truck aka no tweaked frames or heavily jumped rigs.

Doesn’t matter to me what you decide, I have a nice shop, do all my own work and can install when received. Frame is perfect, it’s not a bolt on long travel truck, everything that can move is reinforced but does get jumped occasionally. If it does fit would want to keep it, not interested in cutting the line though. FYI - I deleted the oversized holes in the motor mounts and upgraded to stronger properly shanked bolts.

I just want to make sure the guys that already paid had first dibs obviously but it seems like that's not a big issue to them, so just looking for the quickest test pilot available that is able to give constructive feedback and be able to do a solid competent install.

Normally I know for a fact a part will fit when I release it but this particular project has been a PITA for a while due to the totally funky design and tight tolerances.

 

Whatever works out...for ya. Let me know as I got the time.

 

Appreciate it, and for sure no issue with one of the other members getting the mount first to do the fitment testing.
I can do the install and everything myself but at the moment it's just something I'm not sure I can get to doing quickly.
Just rather not hold you up on product release by saying yes and then it turns out it will be a bit for me to get to it when another member can get to it a lot faster than I can.

Got the transmission mount installed. Had a minor tolerance issue that was easily resolved with the mounting holes to trans. @Bonzen will address for final production. I opted to get the mount unpainted to speed up test fit. I should of waited a bit for paint to cure. Ryan is a super nice guy to deal with. Will be taking it out for a test drive but probably won't feel any difference just cruising.

Did you have to redrill the trans side mount hole?

 

@Bonzen said he'll be welding them up this weekend after making a few adjustments. Trans mount was an easy swap. Definitely a driveway install. Torqued transfer case to mount 52ft lbs and crossmember to mount at 25ft lbs. I tightened the bushing mounts until they met the bushing then a two turns more. Just don't over tighten them.
I was able to jack rear transfer case up to clear the OEM centering stud. I didn't have to loosen the front solid engine mounts or remove the crossmember.

 

The driver's side rear mount hole need to adjusted. I sent him where it wasn't lining up.
I only needed to dress it up with a die grinder at the 2 o'clock position. He slotted the crossmember bolt holes to compensate for any dimensional irregularities.

 

Went out for a drive and you can feel the drive train just a little bit. Not much more than just engine mounts. Although I couldn't really tell any changes with the engine mounts, except an increase in performance.
I believe this will be a good performance upgrade combined with the solid engine mounts. I did a few WOT pulls and it "felt" solid and just hooked up nicely.
Now for those that are jumping and crawling I see no downsides to this swap.

With the Lexus coils you can feel the starter and it firing up. At least with mine...

You nailed it dude, I am stoked to have such a competent guy to do the first install.

So the 2 trans housing mount holes on the OE part & my laser cut part ended up being off by basically .022" definitely within "off road truck weld specs" but I think the bigger issue was the whole tab may have weld warped a tiny bit which compounded the issue making the holes seem more off than they really were. Something I will address on subsequent kits. Its a long arm, with multiple gussets to support it so there is a lot of heat thrown into it. Glad @Mdl handled it no problem.

This is a challenging part to reverse engineer & build. The angles and tolerances are tight, the whole thing is very compact and "flat" its difficult to even get the gun in many spots to weld it up, especially working around the weld fixture structure. But I'm definitely happy how it came out

I will get the 2 paid kits finished and shipped as soon as I can!

I also never posted concerning the solid engine mount install. Had to wait after my regear...The JBA longtubes made it a little difficult for the drivers side rear. Removing the front drive shaft to differential gave me enough room to get at them. Drivers side went in as a complete unit and passenger in 2 pieces with only removing the steering pressure sensor. Really liking the complete setup!
