A few months back my buddy Bijan @rcsbguy came to me with a project to solve an issue that I wasn’t aware was an issue in the first place. On the 2nd/2.5 gen Tundra RCSB and double cab standard bed, the front roughly 20” of the bed isn’t supported due to the front most bed mount being around 20” back from the behind the cab. Apparently when you throw a heavy camper or camping set up on the truck such as a GFC, Topo topper, 4 wheel camper, bed rack with a bunch of stuff loaded on it, these beds are cracking and collapsing towards the front. So Bijan brought his truck over and I came up with a simple “Bed support tower” that welds onto the frame and utilizes a crossbar between both sides to help support the front of the bed. The crossbar sits only about 4” back from the front of the bed which gives a ton more support to the front of the bed and reduces the chances of cracking or collapsing.

My purpose for this post is that I’m offering these as a kit. I will cut out the plates and weld them together so that they’re ready for you to weld on to your truck. Anyone local to me I will be offering as a service as well.

The crossbar is just 1x2” .120 wall rectangle tube and that will need to be sourced by you since it will kill shipping. It’s a 58” long piece.

Anyone who is interested or has more questions I’d be happy to answer.

Price for the kit is $250 and $27 shipping USPS flat rate box

Tentatively interested. I'll crawl under my DCLB in a couple days when I finish my work week on Tuesday and see if this is the case for the LB's.

I appreciate it man. I just changed the title and a little in my description. I haven’t confirmed fitment on a long bed double cab since I very rarely set them. I have confirmed fitment on RCSB and Double Cab Standard Bed

What do you need to confirm fitment for a RCLB, I don’t mind getting you dimensions to help out

Is it the same problem on a RCLB where the front bed mount bolts are 18”-20” away from the front of the bed?

I’ll measure for you; last time I was under there I didn’t see issues with the bed mounts but I imagine it can still be a problem

and by front of the bed, you’re talking about by the tailgate? Or by the cab?

Closest to the cab. On the DCSB the closest bed mount to the front of the bed towards the cab is like 18”-20” and the frame tapers down so there’s no support there for the front end of the bed

Just put a Tune M1 on my 2020 double cab 6'7" bed and would like to buy one of these kits. How do I go about purchasing one of these from you?

I appreciate it. My buddy @rcsbguy is the one who came to me about the project so he deserves some credit. Glad I could come up with something to help with this problem
