Could also be the lower mounts to the cylinder heads, I had a couple of torn o-rings that only leaked under boost and were difficult to diagnose as they would stay sealed during idle.

#146 picture looks like a black O-ring on the main body of the blower. It's probably pre installed so no need to mention it. My LSA supercharger is the same way, and while I don't remember on the one 2650 I installed, there's no way there's not a gasket.

I was thinking the lid has it embedded or something.

Correction, it's on the lid according to these pictures I found on Google, which apparently are on the forum somewhere but can't find a link to the post:

Based on these pics, I'd guess that it was an o-ring in a groove on the upper half. I don't recognize a groove on the bottom.

    appreciate all the help guys.

Going to check in with a nearby performance shop to see what they make of it, hopefully they can schedule me in for this week.
Second option will be Prospeed in Houston.

Wow, you're the first one that I've read who's reported needing a new coupler for... Wait, which TVS2650, Harrop or Magnuson?

First Harrop I’ve seen with a worn coupler, but I think you’re also the only person I know of to have been in there and taken the front snout off and swapped to the GM snout other than Viktor.

It's making a distinctive knocking sound coming from the snout about once per engine revolution, I still need to take the belt off to see if it does it by hand, but I'm 99% sure it's the coupler. Maybe the harsher shifts with the IPT valve body shortened it's lifespan? I've got a stock belt coming today so I can bypass the SC and still drive it until I get a coupler.

I thought it was the belt at first, but it's tracking straight and that noise was more of a slapping sound, this is noticeably harder.

Got some pics of the new good motor. This was sourced to be spec race motor. Terrible herbst team had TRD build the unit. Has some trick pulley setup for a remote oil filter. Waiting on more pics of the billet rails etc. Lucked out these engines for sure.

FWIW my Magnuson 1900 coupler started making noise around 20K miles. I replaced it with the SCOL one and it’s been great so far after about 3 years now. Hopefully SCOL has a replacement for the Harrop.

SCOL came through, after they verified the dimensions with Harrop, they had a solid coupler part number EAT-85914 that will work.

    **EDIT**
Part above is a stock replacement, the solid coupler version link is below

Nice! @snivilous maybe add the coupler part number to post #1 for future reference.

Well, I just spoke with SCOL, that part number is for a direct replacement...he's getting me the solid coupler part number and I'll post that once I receive the invoice.

@armyoffoo did you insulate the bottom of your SC with a thermal blanket? If so, any recommendations on materials/methods?

Bypassed the SC with a stock length belt, knocking sound is gone. I will swap out the coupler this weekend, might port the snout as well while I have it off.

Post some pics of the coupler and the SC with the snout removed then, I’m curious how it all looks. I also have to wonder if it wasn’t just a belt/pulley alignment issue like you had last time and changing out the belt to the non SC belt just addressed that issue. Couplers are typically a distinct rock tumbling sound from all of them I’ve ever heard that were bad.

Will do. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the belt, alignment was my first thought as well. My prior alignment issues were due to me forgetting to move the alternator mount bushing over when I upgraded to a HO alt. The belt was walking off the alternator pulley and making a slapping sound, this was like a metal on metal knocking like it was loading and unloading the rotors.

    Whipple down... :(

Sounds like spoons in a blender at light loads. Took the tension off the serpentine belt and the pulley has +- 1/8" of wobble all the way around, with 15* or so of rational play before it clunk clunks into something, wobbles, and spins things. Ugh. Coupler? I reached out to Whipple to see what they think. Just over a year old, 23k miles.

Normally can’t stand these fan boy types buying the newest “offroader” for clickbait, declaring them the best thing ever then selling them after 6 months later. But this video was entertaining as the later half is them salivating at the idea of having a Gen 2 Tundra/Sequoia 5.7 with supercharger.

    https://youtu.be/r65Yu4vkj9M

Reflecting on the state of “super trucks”, it’s interesting how so many have come and gone (syclone, lightning(s), SRT-10) and the newer TRX (gone) and Raptor R (soon to be gone). Meanwhile the lowly “TRD” magnuson/etc 5.7 2007-2021/22 lives on in many a driveway. I think through reliability and mass numbers the supercharged 5.7s will be the majority of v8 forced induction trucks actually on the road.
