    Alot of them
Mine doesn't have any issues with noise either. The benefit of the new motor is more airflow and a brushless motor. More airflow will be beneficial to me since I have rear AC in my double cab. I have had my blower motor in the garage for several months but haven't installed it yet.

Finally got around to installing the 87103-60560 blower motor in my 2019. Twenty minute job or so. Its a noticeable difference on high. Thank you to the ones that found the LC part was better and works as an upgrade for the Tundra.

Didn't disconnect battery. Pretty low risk job for that.

Earlier in this thread we theorized that the newer part is not any better or different than the older part. Both brushless. Most likely just changed sub-suppliers to more cost effective sources to squeeze some more profit margin out of high volume vehicle sales - parts markup is an afterthought but also yields a better return.

My old blower motor has what I assume to be a 9J13 date code. I replaced the original 07 blower motor with one I got in a used heater box assembly repair from I think a 2014 truck so that makes sense. The new blower motor has what I'm assuming is a 9H20 date code. Making it already at least 4 years old - old stock. Eventually once the older part number stock is used up in service it would be obsoleted and superceded to the newer part number. No point in scrapping perfectly good old stock because there's a newer part number with same fit and function?

All theory and deeply overthought. It was also a dollar cheaper shipped and showed up quick!

    No...

I just made sure everything was off (also turned off the HVAC prior to shutting down the truck) and then gave it some time 'chill out' before doing the swap

Haha a buck is a buck. The difference should be probably very minor if any.

Not sure why they have different part numbers though. Maybe because it's a subassembly and not a component level. My company uses the same part number for a part that comes from multiple vendors. Maybe auto industry is different than electronic.

I didn't either. No key in the ignition is safe enough for me for minor electrical parts installs. Now ask master mechanic and they'll tell you, you should. But I'm no master. Or a mechanic.

Well just bought one from Fred Anderson at $110 shipped. Deal is still going on it looks like for a few more day.

Hoping to get a little better airflow in the back (for the kiddos). I’m spoiled with my wife’s GX that has a separate rear air in the ceiling.

Because I’m a degenerate with two Tundras, I figured why not be a guinea pig and order one of each part number to compare them side by side. I won’t go as far as dissecting them, but I can of course check some of the visual differences. Depending on how much time I have to expend, I may do stock vs. “old” LC vs. “new” LC airspeed installed in my 2010 CrewMax; that way I can also check if the rear blower airspeed is any different between them.

I think I even have a new Continental blower motor laying around that I bought a few years ago from autozone, so maybe I’ll throw that one in and get a measurement too.

I felt like an old wuss just doing it once. (Install was super easy. Getting positioned to do it, for me, was a circus act).

Yeah it doesn’t seem like there’s any good way to go at it, besides removing the passenger seat. I guess if I’m switching out 4 different blower motors for my science experiment it might be worth it to pull the seat out.

Awesome, glad I’m not the only one. When I saw a chit show all of the 3rd gen’s were having I decided it was now or never to get a clean low miles 2.5.

Will be good to have two test results comparing the different blower motors.

I find that you just gotta 'commit' to being on your upper back, so throw one of those kneeling boards down kinda lengthwise from the door sill and start twisting your upper body into position and then..... 'flop' onto your upper back (head toward the engine) and then hold that bridge for about 5 minutes

No offense intended, but his route was my first go around, and it just hurt.... essentially, you end up tucked under the dash in a decline position which puts waaaay more stress on your head, neck and shoulders (as the blood is rushing to the top of your head) and the anger starts to build...

Oh trust me, I know. I already did this mod, while parked on the driveway incline with engine facing down, and busted both my knees due to injury, I was limping....
Yea, that yoga took me an hour, with 35 mins (I timed it) just to get the damn cover off, getting the actual unit off and on was quick, button up wasn't hard, I did a double check to make sure the panel was fitted right and that took a while.
So yea, trust me when I signed my own death wish. Removing the chair might be the best and easiest way to go about it, but upside down on the chair? I am not sure when your head starts to hurt....

Maybe I can set up one of those folding white Costco tables next to the door sill and rest my bottom half on the table and torso on the floorboard. I think that sounds like a winning method!

    That's actually a great idea...

I have that exact table, and thinking about it on a low setting that might work well
