I honestly have no idea on filling the scratches or polishing glass, but the water repellent properties are amazing. One of my biggest auto pet peeves is dirty windshields. I just can't do it. I can't do smudgy glasses lol.

only experience I have is with Adams and jaxwax. Jaxwax works, but I think Adams is better, but I was too impatient to wait so I grabbed it local. rainforest shop and Adams can be had around $80 which is a fair deal for how much you get.

Honestly it's so much better than rain x. On glass about 1.5-2yrs. It applies just like rain x too the only difference is your window needs to be spotless. That and if you don't wipe the hazy ceramic coat off it'll be visible and you'll have to remove the coating and reapply unlike rain x you can still wipe it off after the fact.

Well I would say 25 years of service for original ball joints is pretty solid. Took a sharp corner at 60 with a quad in the back a few weeks ago and got a bad feeling so figured it was time.

Just made it back from TX... 3250 miles in the past few days. Ran through some rough terrain on one of the larger
ranches. Smoked 2 Rios on my un-guided, non-feeder hunt.... The first one had a double beard. Truck ran great with the new stuff on it. Fr33lance spindles and GX brakes will go on this weekend, hopefully. Should have time to do the Coastal bumpers in the next few weeks as well. VA turkey season starts Saturday, so that takes priority.

Could it be the pinion angle? As in, proper alignment of all the various u joints? Tons of talk of this on Tacoma world, and seems to rarely be carrier drop that helps.

 

I've posted this before and I'll post it again. Just like mine, it's because it's a 2000 and had the one off good ball joints. The 2000 was never affected by the recall. That's why mine went 23 years and 205k before I decided to change them.

 

I check them every year for play with a pry bar and never had any play whatsoever but at this point it’s cheap insurance with the roads I’ve been on this spring.

Could be. Carrier drop addresses transmission out put, carrier bearing and pinion all at the same time. But if it’s dramatically off at the pinion, then I should address it there. Doesn’t look bad though.

 

Just curious how many miles did you put on yours? I had no awareness of this issue until I joined the forum a year and a half ago so I didn't change my 06 until 18 years and 302,000 plus.

Addressing all the angles at once might miss the mark. You might not need to change anything from the carrier bearing forward, since your transmission output and carrier bearing height are already and still coordinated. If you just focus on things related to what you have recently changed you might find that your pinion angle is not ideal (parallel) to your... Middle working angle? My two piece driveshaft geometry is definitely rusty... Not sure my eyecrometer is calibrated enough to tell from da photo but we may be talking about just a few degrees?
