    How was that determined?

Am on a 6 inch lift like you, and After I installed my homemade spacers, the acel is smoother ( before it was like riding over the graded road shoulders).

What makes your without different to mine?

RC says they don’t include it into their lift kit as some tundras comes with a single drive shaft....

When in have needed a carrier bearing drop was when I did the rear shackle. I developed a shudder. On this truck I did a block and didn't get a shudder, so if you have a shudder you need a drop kit if not then your golden.

If you go over to tacomaworld there is a long article on how to check your driveline angles. It’s about more than the shudder. You can have premature wear on that joint as the rubber donut gets worn over time.

I use this size spacer on a 6 inch lift in addition to a block, AAL, Shackles and airbags. Smooth as butter on takeoff.
I did indeed have the takeoff shudder until I installed this spacer.IMG_20150612_130928.jpg

I have a 2-3 inch lift in the front, more like a leveling kit. I did a 1/4 spacer on mine just because.

I bought my Tundra used, when I pulled servive records from dealer, they sent it to get lifted, it has a RC 6" lift, and I found out that the rear crossmember is not cut like the Instructions say to do, past year been debating to go with Fabtec 4" kit, IDK I've been looking at the PRO

But here's the thing, ever since I've had mine, I feel no such shudder at all, I'm on a 6" lift, on 35's, 20x10 wheels, +20 believe, tires flush with fender flares

I just installed the RC one, although I think it's undersized for my lift. But the install was simple (had three shims per side) and quick.

You can use from one to three of the shims, depending on your needs.

If it's not shaking you don't (need) it.
Mine was not shaking but did it anyway.

It's still getting a little shaky. Seems a bit better than it was, but still noticeable.

Going to try a more dramatic drop.

Should there be any angle remaining, or is it straight when it comes from the factory?

When I lifted my truck with 1-1/2" shackles( I know, small lift but I like to understand how things work) I first calculated the factory angles as a reference. Then recalculated everything with the 1.5" lift to see what size carrier bearing spacer would give me the best angles.
Followed these three rules on the Spicer page:
    Basic Rules:
Rule 1: Universal joint operating angles at each end of a driveshaft should always be at least one-half degree

Rule 2: Universal joint operating angles on each end of a driveshaft should always be equal within one degree of each other (one half degree for motor homes and shafts in front of transfer cases or auxiliary devices)

Rule 3: For vibration-free performance, universal joint operating angles should not be larger than three degrees. If they are, make sure they do not exceed the maximum recommended angles.

Everything needed to get your angles as close as possible to ideal is on this Spicer page. Great calculator and information. With a few calculations you can figure out what will work without a bunch of trial and error.
    Hopefully this will help someone.
