There is no camera under the vehicle. It’s all software trickery and is created using the rest of the cameras. Just like how it creates the bird eye view of the truck. It will only activate once in crawl/DAC mode which unfortunately for us that added this switch will not get.

Is anyone finding discounts out there now on these switches? The cheapest I've found with a quick search was $170.

That's about what I bought mine for. It was ~$173 shipped to me from Fred Anderson Toyota. I plan on trying to sell my other switch to offset some cost. Don't think anyone here would want it - maybe fleBay.

10-4, thanks. I might just pull the trigger and get it done. This has been on my list for a while now. After seeing the success in more vehicles, I'm in.

I purchased my truck not even a week ago, found this thread, looked up my local dealer parts, they have it for the $138.
Ordered it, will install before I put on the matte console accessory. MTS is all I was looking for.
I didn't like the way the TRD Pro handled for comfort / long trips, so this is great to have more intelligence into the system when needed.

Has anyone verified that adding this switch actually alters the way 4WD works? I'm not sure how it could be tested. Maybe by driving on the selected type of terrain and seeing if the truck is handling any better?

Anyone know what the terrain settings are supposed to actually do?

it adjusts throttle control, traction control, brake inputs. Mine arrives tomorrow and I will take it down to the beach at some point to test for obvious differences in the sand. I got it on sale for the off chance it gives me a little added security in winter, spend a lot of time in snowy/icy mountain roads. Will report back.

You're right! man -- I must have fat fingered it!
I just cancelled mine, on the hunt again.

    84970-0C010 - is the right part number -- it's like $180

**UPDATE** I ordered it from https://autoparts.fredandersontoyota.com/ like others - $175 shipped.

Yes thank you. I have that. I'm referring to the thing that comes in the TRD OR package. It's an additional view on top of the 360 PVM.

Waiting to install my matte console accessory until after I install mine as well. Too many possibilities for scratches.

$175 seems to be the cheapest anyone has found at this point.

I have 2023 Limited, with no AVS, no rear locker, just load leveling suspension. Non TRD, non hybrid. Would this switch add anything to my truck?

We really need a way to pin posts, to the end of forum. I think most people skip to last page - read a few things - I get it.

To summarize the 10pages before this post:
This is NOT a 100% solution. There are some SR5s that this isn't working for them.
It looks like Limited and up - this appears working for most.

    WORKS:
Only the MTS system will get enabled by this switch swap and those only show up in 4H and 4L - 4 modes on each. From some other posts, some mention you CANNOT turn on MTS while stopped even in 4H/L - you need to be moving.
Hard to confirm, but many have stated it's affecting their trucks (throttle, abs/traction).

    DOESN'T WORK:
Crawl does not work - it looks like something is missing, some ECU - no one is sure, no one has that working.
This appears to NOT add the 'under the truck' camera.

People have tried looking to see if it's the rear diff-locker - but to no avail.
People have replaced some of the ECUs - but to no avail.

    Correct Part Number: 84970-0C010
(Don't accidentally get others as variations of the same switch are out there as 84970-0C020 84970-0C030)

Dealer that will ship for free, and appears to be one of the lowest priced:
    Combination Switch Assembly #84970-0C010 | Autoparts.toyota.com

In time someone may figure it out more...

Yes, I have the virtual under the truck view. Thought that was part of the 360 PVM.

Welp I’m about to give up. Switch arrived and installed today in my 23 Limited. Only drive and tow modes working.

remembered I need to be driving per someone else’s post. Went for a drive, put it in 4hi, nothing.

currently resetting computers via battery disconnect but I doubt it will make a difference.

Very odd that mine would be any different than other limiteds that have had success. Only thing unique on mine is the factory load leveling air bags

Have done both. I’d be curious if someone who has it working could take a picture of the plug in like mine attached? Clearly missing 4 pins, wonder if the others look the same or not.

I have a 22 platinum hybrid and I also have load leveling air bags on the rear (and avs up front). The switch works for me. As you mentioned, I did have to be in motion in 4hi or 4lo before the mts button would light up (on position, not running lights) and give me the terrain options. I assume you tried it at roadway speeds…is it possible there is a mph minimum? Were you going really slow or 10+mph?

Interesting. I did find some videos on yt of dealerships showing it in the parking lot and they can activate it while at a stand still (from factory at least).

there’s a guy on here where it didn’t work at first and then it worked later. Wondering what could have change besides him being at a cruising speed

I’ve exhausted my options. Have tried about everything. Took the center console apart to make sure the plug is fully seated. Reset ECU via battery disconnect. No luck.

If anyone wants to take this off my hands, $130, i can ship.

So.I'm curious what options/pkgs your truck has? Load leveling air, 14in screen, pvm, nonTRD, etc.?
Mine is a limited with all or most of the tech and air, but not a TRD.

Yup. Limited, load leveling air, 14in screen.

standard headlights, no pvm. Kind of a unique spec maybe?

The option package may have something to do with it - that's just speculation on my part.
Sorry it didn't work for you. I'll be sure to post in the thread if it works for me.

so I assume your running lights on the switch work at night? (All 4 running lights on thr switch work when lights are on?). When you put the switch into normal drive mode, do your old options still show on the screen (normal, eco, sport/etc)?

you are basically saying there are no change to drive/tow, but MTS option will never allow itself to be selected (I.e. the light will never stay on when you try to select it)?

not sure if it matters, my truck has about every option out there aside from TRd Pro specific items and MTS works fine:

    hybrid 4x4
    AVS
    Load leveling/air
    Birds Eye cameras
    Premium headlights
    Premium audio
    Retracting running boards
    Console safe
    Front air dam
    Lane assist/park assist
    Adaptive cruise control
    Automatic bed step
    Auto bed lowering

Odd that some feature or mix of features wouldn’t allow it to work for you.
