General Supercharger Thread

I got mine from underdog too but only because they had the best sale at the time. They told me 8-12 weeks. I thought this is great it will give me time to sell the idea to my wife. Sure enough it showed up a week later. OOPS!!! Sorry honey.

 

Simple solution (that unfortunately never worked on my wife) These are not the boxes you are looking at, they were never here.

I just don't tell her/make sure they are out of sight when she gets home.

 

I try that too, but the Magnuson boxes are pretty big to hide.

 

Good place to hang dry a bed sheet for a few weeks lol

 

Harrop uses a very inconspicuous bright red plastic crate lol. It’s actually a tank of a container, I want to use it for something more interesting but still have all the stock parts in it from the swap from 3.5 years ago…

 

How may superchargers did you get?

 

For me two too many lol

 

Jeff (Westcott) sent me that picture when my Magnuson arrived at his shop back in 2020. I think he said mine and another for a 4 runner had arrived so I think that’s just two kits in the picture, but I could be wrong.

 

Another bonus of picking the used set up in Chandler. lol

Got it free and sent it out to SOL for a complete overhaul and new everything along with the green injectors.
Thru a very close friend I was able to get ahold of @snivilous to tune the truck for me. I bought my own HP tuner. He turned me on to this website.
This truck has never thrown a code and runs really well for "STOCK SC". I can't say enough good about @snivilous . I had a small issue with the truck when I first installed the SC. He met me on his way back thru town to help, taking time out of his own personal life.
I Finally figured out the issue and it had nothing to do with the SC or the tune.. It was all on me and something I did to the truck years ago.... I must say he went above and beyond and just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! @snivilous for being very dedicated and just a good person overall.
I look forward to participating here and one day will install his party pulley. I have a spare engine and am saving for all the go-fast bottom end parts. Also saved the AWD- might do that too...pipe dream for now.
If I want to go real fast right now - I just open the other garage door. I think I'm in the 2 SC club as well..

About time you finally posted! I'm so happy you got everything solved, biggest stumper in awhile and good thing you persevered since it was a $3 part causing everything!

 

That @snivilous is good people for sure. I remember bothering the shit out of him with dumb questions and all he did was help. Alot of good folks in the supercharger thread. Congrats on the blower.

Yup We're lucky to have snivilous!!

 

I installed a kill switch in the injector power feed line, so even if you had the key, the truck would not start. Turns out the switch would intermittently go open, but only at WOT in 4th gear...every time. No codes or check engine light...
I finally figured it out at work one day when the truck died just by touching the switch...replaced the switch with a 40amp steel waterproof one I had left over from the buggy days and VOIALA! no more dying..
I should have known better but never had an issue when the truck was stock.

 

I use a switch but it only kills the 12v ignition power to relay.

 

Man, having to do that as a security is a tough one! I'd rather electrocute those who try to get in! I didn't even lock my house when I left for this spring break trip the last 7 days! Not throwing shade, just thinking about stuff I've never had to think about before!

 

This made me recall back in the day...back in high school (late 90's) I bought the "auto taser" from Audio Express. I believe it was actually made here locally in Phoenix. It took a couple of batteries to produce the voltage and had a key fob to arm and disarm it along with a keyed lock to place it onto the steering wheel. I actually hung onto it in the garage for quite some time, but ended up throwing it away a few years back. Hard to even find any pictures of it online, but I was able to come across this one. It was essentially "The Club", but produced voltage once it was bumped. It could be used to prevent turning of the steering wheel as well as positioning it to block your radio. I can't be the only one here who bought one of these right?

 

I’ve always wanted to electrify the exterior of a vehicle for security. Something with the hit of an electric fence.

In 2002, I moved to Mexico, I had a kill switch installed on my 2000 Tundra, was a longbed V6 5 speed manual,man I miss that truck!

With the 5 speed, I can cruise her on the fwy and grab gears on the street..

 

I used to have a 2002 2wd Tundra
Supercharged 4.7, then converted her to 4wd.. I miss that truck, but this 2010 suits our lifestyle more now...
The 2002 couldn't tow the mustang to car shows out of town.. Was to much for the rear diff. This tundra doesn't even know it's back there.
