My local detail shop is willing to remove my platinum door badges, but they want confirmation that there is no etching underneath. Does anybody have detailed photos/video of these big platinum badges being removed from the doors?

I agree I just need something to show the detail guy. He’s going to remove them when he does the ceramic coating.

Why does he care what it will look like? He'll see for himself within just a few minutes. I guess he's worried there are holes in the door skin?

Thanks for the feedback. I can’t find any other threads that show this exact situation. I need a before and after or a video would be even better. Again, I have searched and googled. I agree with what you’re all saying, but I don’t see hard proof. I need something to show him.

If you see something, post a link on here. I searched. No luck

Just a question. Why would you want to de badge anyway? I do understand that less can be more, personally I don't like the stickers & some extra emblems for a cleaner look, but totally de badging I can't understand. That's kinda like having a hot wife & wanting her to wear a burlap sack all the time. I don't get it.
I'm not knocking anyone's choices, just wondering why?

cause the early 22-23 platinums the strip that went along the whole door from the "platinum" badge would either crack or snap on the front doors. people got sick of them snapping and just debadged them.

I'm thinking about doing this on mine as well, for me, I just like the clean look of no badges.

Like everything with these trucks it’s going to be hit or miss if you have issues under your emblem. I’m waiting on a check now from my local dealership. They replaced my emblem but moved it ever so slightly forward and up revealing what was under it and now they are paying me to get it fixed. upload_2025-3-17_22-1-11.jpg
