I dived deeper, so pre 2016 that cross member is the same between small tank and big tank, around mid year in 2016 they switched to new cross member, new cross member will require a lot of hammering to make it fit, I really wanted it to fit but at that point it's not worth the work.

LRA couldn't tell me, one of the reason I went with transfer flow was because they are willing to sell it and ship it to me directly, LRA required me to go to their retailer to buy and install, the nearest one is 500km away from me so that wasn't going to work, I do have to say Transfer Flow has been pleasant to deal with, just really wish it worked.

 

Is that cross member bolted in? Or? Couldn’t you revert to the other style cross member?

 

I can't quite tell, there seem to be spot welds and two rivets, the only info I could find was it was switched in mid 2016, but it's not model year specific, the crossmember I have sits far too low for the 46 gallons, so the front end of the tank would literately sit 4inches below the frame rail.

 

Would bad O2 sensors cause misfire? All the misfires have occurred on bank 1. Happened today on cylinder 7 with no WOT (which had been the seeming cause previously.
New sensors should be here tomorrow.

 

@JustDSM there are 3 of us running the Lexus 8arfts coils. Would you be able to do one more base tune with the new dwell in background?
@e30cabrio still using these coils? This remedied my non-cel misfires and extended starts. It's worth a shot and greatly increases spark. You should have your base read trd tune or @snivilous.

 

Yup, I have a new set I just put in, I'm still randomly getting misfires, today just driving through a parking lot at almost no throttle it threw 307, first time it has happened without over 9lbs.

@snivilous can you add the info Mdl is referring to, to my tune?

 

@JustDSM has to do the new dwell parameters in the background base hpt file.

 

Whelp after a bunch of tinkering the rigs running. Hard to believe a fresh set of plugs and it fired right up. Next up trans and headers

 

I can also tell the dwell update just at blipping and firing it up makes a difference

That was the issue I had but on bank 2. O2 sensor was the culprit. Forum 1 : Mechanic 0

Nice! It does and although I wanted to use the 880cc injectors and will return (Jesse is a great help!). My extended starts haven't happened in over a week. Hopefully with warmer weather it stays that way.

No, we dont have the file write capability. @JustDSM needs the original file to write a background spark dwell increase onto hpt for the 8arfts coils. Snivilous will copy your current file onto the new dwell base file.

 

I don't have an original read for the current ecm I have. I forgot to read it before I had it tuned.

 

HPT will download the stock file if you read the truck. It doesn't matter if it's tuned or not

 

I have a read from when the ecu stopped letting me write to it.

 

I can send you the stock file in the morning

 

I only need the Cal ID and VIN to generate a file. I generally ask for the OE file just because it contains that information, and I don't have to worry about an incorrectly typed VIN (I can copy/paste it from the file).

I want to help you guys out, but please be mindful that this does take time. If you're not on the latest Cal ID for your particular ECU, there is a cost involved for me to generate these.

If you need an 8AR Coil Dwell modified file, please PM me, and we can work it out.

 

We really appreciate what your able to do with your knowledge of the programs/tuning. I also apologize if I overstepped in the tuning for the coils.

Just heard from Johnny @Cruisers & Co.

Summary: He may not have notifications turned on so he wasn't aware we've been talking about him. He hasn't heard anything but expects them to start shipping any day. He will have an update from Wholesale later today and expects to be receiving emails/tracking information from them so he can ensure we're all getting notified when things do ship.

 

You’re good! If the whole forum started swapping coils, you could see that getting out of hand. That’s more or less what I was referring too.

Maybe I missed it before, but how come you can't hook HPT up to the truck and use "read vehicle"?
